Segunda parte.

Second part.

In this second part comes the good stuff, assembly, electronics installation and decoration so let's get down to business.

Vengadores , A ENSAMBLAR!

Avengers, ASSEMBLE!

Received the cut wood at home then it's time to unpack them, measure them to corroborate the pieces and identify them to be clear in the assembly that goes first and where.

The TV is a 22" that I bought second hand for only 25€ (almost a gift because it was not Smart TV and the former owner was moving, those are the offers to look for).
The speakers are a second hand 2.1 HP, they were giving them away for 15€ because they are small computer speakers that are not very powerful, I think they are 15 or 20 W and somewhat old, no bluetooth but they are in perfect working order.
Curious fact about the speakers, I chose them because they have a volume control with power switch, a matter of being able to control the sound comfortably and although they are low power, being encased inside the cabinet, the acoustic sensation they give is great and honestly you will not play at more than half the volume, it is not necessary, but still sound loud and clear.
The mounting of the TV was a bit tricky because of the specific VESA screws, that is, the TV comes with standard threads to mount it on walls with anchors and those screws are not just any hardware store screw.
So I spent 10€ (ouch) in a kit of VESA screws to mount a variety of TVs, just to get 4 screws for my project, if you know how to get only the 4 VESA screws cheaply you can leave it as a tip in the comments.
When the cabinet is already assembled and painted black inside you can assemble and connect all the electronic components to test, it is good to fix as organized as possible all the cables with Velcro, or flanges (T-racks) to the furniture so that when transporting it nothing moves.

20220216_192306.jpg20220216_192321.jpg20220216_192329.jpg20220216_192300.jpg

20220219_214201.jpg

Let there be light.

The illumination is with LED strips of 5mts. It is an economical and visually appealing solution. Using hot gun silicone secure it all the way around. The bartop lights the canopy and the pedestal lights inside and behind to illuminate the wall.

Piezas transparentes

Transparent parts

Finally I talk about the methacrylates. They are transparent sheets that allow to close the space of the TV to give it the appearance of a real machine and the marquee that goes with a vinyl and methacrylate to be transparent allows light to pass and illuminate the sign.
All the pieces of methacrylate I ordered them to measure in www.rotulatumismo.com and you have to be careful when handling them because they can scratch or break. They are the last thing you should put on because they are part of the finish. The thickness I chose for the methacrylate is 3mm.
For the screen methacrylate I used black vinyl to cover the edges and just leave the screen exposed and the infrared sensor for the remote control.

Encontré a Rotula tu mismo

FRONT COIN PANEL bartop y pedestal 2022.jpg

Graphic Art

In this section there are several companies dedicated to the manufacture of arcades that offer high weight vinyl service as and pre-made designs as Omniretro and Talentec. But there are also companies dedicated to printing and lettering where you can have them made.
Among so many options and budgets I went for the most economical, practical and simple. I found www.rotulatumismo.com
An online company where you make the designs yourself and send them to print as and in the product format that suits you, and at a very good price because the design section is on your own, they only take care of printing and sending it to your home. So I had to get my hands on photoshop and make my own art from scratch.

Photoshopeando

80s Bartop 24 - right 2022.jpg

Photoshopping

For the art of this cabinet I was inspired by the neon and retro-future and the 80's since the golden age of arcade machines.
As background neon vectors and a futuristic retro landscape, and scattered around the scene I put several famous characters from various video games like Final Fight, Samuray Shodown, king of fighters, Mario bros, mortal kombat, TMNT, Strider, Star Wars, Pacman, among others.
Considering that it is a two pieces arcade I made a fade to black to the middle area where both pieces are.

Vinyls.

Once the cabinet is assembled with its electronic components tested it's time for the aesthetics and decoration.
This is the most exciting stage of the project because it already takes the shape of a luxury arcade.
The first thing to place are the vinyls. Once glued carefully to avoid wrinkles and bubbles must be cut excess with a cutter.
TIP
Putting large vinyl can be more complicated than you think if the workplace is unstable, uncomfortable, dusty or very breezy.
I recommend you to watch videos on how to put vinyl to save yourself headaches because it has its own technique.

Toques finales

Final touches

Once the vinyl has been installed, it is time to protect all the edges from peeling off, as well as to give it a polished and professional touch.
This is achieved with the famous "T-molting" edge protectors (for 2 cm thick wood edged with a router) or the "U-molding" for 1 and 2 cm thick wood that are not edged.
If you do not have a milling machine, the U-molding is very good, in my case I used it because the thickness of the wood of my sides is 1cm.
It is important to consider from the design the mounting of the edge cap, otherwise you will be forced to use normal 90 degree edges to cover other edges where the rubber U/T Molding cannot pass or has no space.
I ended up using black PVC edgebanding to finish the cabinet. If you don't want to use screws for aesthetics you can use "No more nails" glue and it will be fine.
I also added industrial casters with brakes for easy transport and velcro between the two parts so they stick together and stay together but when it's time to take them apart it's very easy.
I installed glass holders on the sides for the respective beer and neon decals inside the pedestal that illuminated by the LED light look great.
Also the pandora box allows to connect a USB controller so I put a recessed USB extension and installed it in the front of the bartop, this way I can play with a controller if I want or 3 people can play simultaneously.
Data of novice carpenter.
1- The standard thickness of the wood for various furniture is 2cm or 20mm. I chose 1cm of thickness for the wood of the bartop thinking to reduce the weight of the furniture, the problem came at the time of putting T-molding in the edges, because the minimum measure of the T-molding is 19mm. But I was able to solve the problem by using 10mm U-molding, which is an edge cover that does not need a milling machine for its installation and fits perfectly.
Also, to install super angled hinges on the pedestal door, the door must be 2cm thick to allow for the 1 1/2cm semi drilled hole where the hinge cup goes in and since the sides of my arcade (that support the door) are 1cm thick the screws that support the weight of the door are very small and don't have much to hold on to, so I put mounting glue between wood and hinge to give strength to the screws and avoid drilling the side to the other side, so I don't damage the vinyl outside.
2- The MDF is a soft wood to work with, with the same electric screwdriver drill a slight hole so that when you put the screw head is flush with the wood, so the vinyl will not have bumps in the areas where the screws are. You can also put wood putty and sand to hide it even more.
3- I installed a USB fan that is connected to the power strip and embedded in the back door, this way the hot air that can generate the TV is removed, you can also use a computer fan cooler with a USB charger.
4- The main power strip is connected to a master switch that turns off everything that is plugged into the cabinet, this switch uses an IRC cable that connects to a power outlet. I always turn on or off the arcade there, for protection and to avoid any consumption while not using it.
5- Always use drill guides for the screws. With a bit thinner than the screw you are going to put, drill the points where they go, this way you avoid bulging the wood and screwing is faster and more comfortable.

This project has been an adventure, I have learned a lot, I have also enjoyed every moment of its creation and now is that comes the good stuff, play and have fun and who knows, maybe tomorrow I will get to make a pinball machine too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

I hope you enjoyed the post and if you have doubts or contributions to the project I welcome your comments.

Diego Gutierrez.

Thank you very much, and it's not that I'm a carpenter or anything, this whole project is a product of desire and researching thoroughly on the internet to find the most convenient way. From Saturday to Saturday I advanced little by little and when I took it home it was hard to enjoy it the first days because I thought I had not finished it and that details were missing, until with a few beers I started to play and I said "Ya! This is what it is, baby, and IT is awesome baby" 🤣

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
