Game Development for Kids with Godot Engine - How to Export to Web HTML5 Game

avatar

In this post, we are going to take a look at how you can export the Godot Engine game to the HTML5 or web export.

Previously, we explained the set clear color for the background of the game. So that was more or less basic for the game. And it was a good option for you to learn to set the canvas for the game background and also get the game properly set up as well.

Another of my ecency post, I am loving the interface and also decided to use this often as it is kind of easy to use and less of those login popups on hive.blog. But apart from that I am also going on with more tutorials on the Godot engine and the unity. I have yet not decided to post about unity tutorials.

If you have not yet downloaded the Godot engine, I'd recommend you to do so. Make sure to learn how to setup the initial project and put something up using the tutorials I have made previously.

You can check out the table of contents for the past tutorials and it has both old & new tutorials. You may go through that and see if this works out for you.

As you can see exporting to the HTML and web is one part. In order to run those exported games, make sure to have the python based http server created in the directory. And so then you would be able to run those games as well.

Hopefully this tutorial gives you a good idea on how to setup and create the HTML5 web export for the godot engine. Do let me know if any issues that you faced while doing this tutorial.

In next few set of the tutorials, I would be posting bigger long form tutorials on how to make the platformer and the RPG tutorial. I may also cover other game types or particle effects in the godot engine too with 1 video released on youtube per week.

I have created few tutorials on shaders and the particle effects specifically for the 2D and it may take time for all of that to compile in one video which I plan on releasing next weeks to months.

If you want to try out the similar game development tutorials using the gdevelop, you can follow this tutorial trail of GDevelop Tutorials.

I hope the current tutorial was useful to you.

We will continue the further game development topic in next post.
