Now is the Time

The way I see the world going now, I know that if I want to make it in this life, I must deploy the use of technology and everything around it. It is not as if I did not know. I saw it as I came of age and was smart enough to understand that technology was now leading. I watched as the world transition to the best of my knowledge and I knew that I would come across these things someday, and have to make my decision.

Looking at the prompt, so many thoughts came to my mind about the many skills I wanted to learn but never did and how maybe I would be earning in seven figures if I had just pursued it. In 2022, I came across a small tech hub that admitted people interested in tech. My Onboarder, Belemo, was part of this hub and he had subscription there. He encouraged me to sign up and I was pumped. I just had to figure out how to raise the money and all was good.

However, five days into sourcing for the money, I gave up. Before giving up, I had decided I wanted to learn UI/UX design. Frankly, I was actually confused. I could not decide between UI/UX and their Coding program. However, the coding looked way too complicated so I opted for the design and even now, I have no idea what it entails. I just wanted to learn something and I liked girls with glasses…

Anyway, fast forward. I gave up. Mostly because I was not actually interested. I just wanted to acquire a tech skill and in my mind, they were all hard and none would appeal to me. Therefore, I did not bother even researching to find what would work best in my interest. I would come to regret this when come 2024, it seems that people are looking for not just data analyst and programmers, but also people versed in UI/UX. I did not feel pain though. I felt no regrets. All I did was learn a lesson, which was to start immediately.

Hence, I signed up for a program that would be my first step into the world of skill acquisition and a possible catapult in my career. For now, I will take it one day at a time and learn what I have to. I know little to nothing in advanced tech and that rubs me off the wrong way. As an individual, skills like this is necessary and I would continue to accumulate them for a while. I do not know what waits for me after this, but this sure is an exciting journey.

Everything is a step at a time without rushing ourselves. Though we feel and wished we'd learned those skills earlier on but there are some factors that would stop us but we can always do that later but with our mind focused on it. One day, we would come to appreciate the action taken.

Problem with much of UI/UX and indeed coding and indeed much of computer type tech ... AI is rapidly taking the place of people..
Why pay and train someone when you can click click and get something a new start would take about a month to do ...

There are other things which still are needed and you are better off doing them ... Knowing what should go on a website will serve you better than know what fulling colour it should be...

In today’s world, having a tech skill is super important . People are constantly seeking experts with digital expertise, and it's essential not to fall behind.

I'm sorry that your UI/Ux dreams didn't work out. However, I'm incredibly proud of you for taking another significant step towards your goals! You rock, Dee.

Oh, I see why you're in love with me now. It was never because I'm the sweetest girlie you ever met.🙃

I love this step for us, darling. There's truly no need to be in regrets. Just a lesson learnt and now that another opportunity has presented itself, we'll do better.🖤

These times took many by surprise. If we had knows tech skills would become a such a big thing, perhaps we've have done better. Sounds like you re-enrolled for UI/UX now. That right?

Nope. Something more in my line. And something I have done in little amounts before.
