As I sit down to reflect on my life's journey, I can't help but marvel at the twists and turns that have shaped me into who I am today. I began my journey as Dr. Smrity Rauniyar was born in Kathmandu, NEPAL.
My journey has been a rollercoaster ride from Kathmandu to Chitwan, all the way to becoming a doctor, just like my dad.

When I was two, my family moved to Karnataka, India. so my dad could pursue his studies in Internal medicine(MD). After completing his master's, we returned to Nepal, settling in Chitwan. renowned for its one-horned rhinoceros.

But growing up, As a child, I was never asked what I wanted to be; it was simply assumed that I would follow in my father's footsteps and pursue a career in the medical field. And so, alongside my sister, I embarked on the journey of medical education, choosing to study Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) while she pursued MBBS.
I was always expected to follow in my dad's footsteps and become a doctor too.

The school wasn't easy for me, I was bullied for being brown-skinned and part of the Madesh community. Each day became a battle, I used to refuse to go to school and make excuses. and cry alone in the room thinking what's wrong with being dusky. Despite the scars left by those experiences, I refused to let them define me, choosing instead to embrace my true self - fun-loving, jolly, and talkative.

I also want to mention how much I enjoyed sports and crafting during my school days. I was pretty good at both! My teachers always praised me for my athletic skills and creativity in crafting. I even got awards for them, which felt really awesome. These hobbies added so much fun and joy to my life, and they taught me important lessons about teamwork and creativity.

I have also been through anxiety attacks, feeling really worried and stressed. I went to see a doctor for help, and it was hard. But my family was always there for me, giving me lots of love and support. They never stopped believing in me, even when things were tough. With their help, I found the courage to face my problems and keep going. They were like a guiding light, helping me through the darkest times.

Back in Kathmandu for my high school years, I studied science at Himalayan White House College, Kathmandu. I had the best memories ever. It was super fun! I used to play pranks on my teachers and sneak out of the hostel to explore with my friends. But the hostel rules were strict! I learned a lot about being away from my parents and how much they mean to me. I also joined in games and programs and had a blast.

But, oops, I sometimes got into trouble with the hostel wardens for not focusing on my studies enough. Still, those years taught me a ton about friendship, responsibility, and having a good balance in life. Looking back, I'm grateful for all the laughter and lessons learned during that time.

After high school, I worked hard to get into dental school. I took extra classes and passed my exams with good marks. Then, I moved back to Chitwan for my further studies in Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS), a five-and-a-half-year course including my 1-year internship.

It wasn't easy. The BDS program was tough, but I kept going, inspired by my dad and my dream to help people just like him. And now, as I'm about to graduate, I'm grateful for every step of this journey - the challenges, the friendships, and the chance to follow my passion and make a difference as a doctor, just like my dad.

The Bachelor in Dental Surgery(BDS) program tested skill and endurance, demanding dedication and perseverance. Yet, with each passing year, I grew stronger, motivated by the desire to succeed and make my family proud.

Today, as I stand on the graduation milestone, I am grateful for the journey that has brought me here. From the challenges of childhood bullying to academic success, each step has shaped me into the person I am today - resilient, determined, and unafraid to chase my dreams.
