My gardening activities and coconut harvest
I haven't shared a blog about my agricultural activities for a long time, for various reasons that made me not do it, but everything changed in an instant, my enthusiasm recovered when I found one of the posts on "Hivegarden" which seemed to enlighten me, I really inspired to share my agricultural activities thanks to one of the posts written by a professional writer at hive, namely @solominer.
you can read here Solominer post
So on this occasion, allow me to tell you a little about the plants that I am cultivating and also the harvest that I have just done.
after several weeks of experiencing difficult days because the weather was very hot, but I was very grateful that in the morning the rain had fallen and made the soil around the plants I was cultivating fresh and had the opportunity to grow, as you can see in the picture are cucumber seeds that have just been planted. grows at the same time as the rain falls, I chose to cultivate cucumbers because currently this type of plant is easy for me to care for, apart from the care the harvest period is also fairly fast, I only need to wait patiently for 40 days then I will get fresh cucumbers from my own garden.
Now let's go see my garden, who knows you might like my gardening activities; ☺️
this is a seedling for new ones to grow, and look how beautiful it is with two leaves which are very important for the age of cucumbers at this time, usually people plant cucumbers by sowing them in another place first, but I don't do it like most people, I Plant the seeds directly into the garden.
This is one of the risks that must be borne if planted without sowing, cucumber seeds that fail to grow due to being eaten by ants, you can see the remains of the seed shell while the entire core of the seed has been eaten by ants.
where the cucumbers will grow vines in the future, I made this from several branches and plastic rope.
yeah hope you say that the cucumber vines I have made look nice and neat 🥰🥰🥰
Today I also harvested ripe coconuts, these are the coconuts in our garden and in the place where I planted cucumbers, I harvested coconuts with daily wage workers.
These are coconuts that have been peeled by workers, but due to the summer heat some time ago our coconut harvest has decreased slightly compared to the previous harvest which reached 1.5 tonnes of ripe coconuts. However, the total harvest today after I collected it was only 800 kilograms.
This is coconut fiber and I will use this fiber for my gardening activities.
I use coconut fiber to protect my cucumber seeds from attacks by nocturnal animals such as snails, crickets and so on. I have done this method from time to time and it has also been proven that this method has a positive effect.
I am a farmer and I like to plant various types of fast-harvesting plants such as cucumbers, tomatoes, curly chilies, but for the month of April I planted cucumbers because the weather conditions are not very good in my city, cucumbers are a type of plant that is easy to care for and the capital I spend is also relatively small, so choosing cucumbers as a cultivation plant in April makes a lot of sense for me.
Thank you very much for visiting my blog and reading my gardening activities, see you in the next gardening post. 🥰
Very cool using those coconuts to keep the little seedlings happy.
Best of luck and thanks for the mention
