How Technology is Transforming Incheon Airport into the Future of Travel
In most cases I have always take to read about Airport in the world, many times I even like to watch on YouTube different airport location in different countries of the world and I discovered that airport are not just about flight alone and technology has taken over its now much more easier for travelers.
Then Incheon airport has caught my attention which is one of the bussiest and smartest airport in the world. The first time I read about Incheon, I was amazed how advance it was compared to other Airport, there are now self-check-in kiosks and automated bag drops in which travelers are not to queue or waiting a long lines. These simple changes save so much energy and time and reduce stress of the travelers.
Another interesting aspect of it is the use of AI and robots. At Incheon, robots can help passengers with directions and fast movement, helping with flight details, and sometimes help with luggage in some cases. Imagine walking into an airport and being guided by a friendly robot instead of running around searching for information counters, it is very interesting though. It's very amazing.
I have also discovered that The immigration process has much more become easier and faster because of facial recognition technology. Instead of old use of stamping papers and checking passports for long minutes, machines can quickly identify travelers and let them through. This not only improves security but also makes travelers stress free experience.
That's not all the country is also testing Urban Air Mobility (UAM), which is flying taxis. In the nearest future, it can help travelers to quickly meet up with the time of flights to skip traffic congestion that may occur on the cities road. That sounds like something from a movie, but i think the country is trying to make it real.
Incheon Airport shows a beautiful example of how all airports in every location of the country should be , the functions and features and what they should implement for easier travelers experience. And here in Korea. It’s exciting to think how flying will change in the next few years, because the world of technology is very advancing and I can’t wait to experience it myself someday.
