Earthquake update 290725

I am getting a lot of Quake alerts on my phone today, and lately.

The earth is constantly moving, this much I have learned from tracking quakes.

Most don't see the small ones as very important, but I try to notice them all.

It's not easy though. In a week there can be thousands, and while I have tried to mark them all on my google earth map, and try to keep an eye on every single one, it's difficult.

https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/?extent=-84.92835,-390.93951&extent=81.97239,-68.90826&range=week&magnitude=all&listOnlyShown=true&baseLayer=satellite&timeZone=utc&settings=true

I don't get paid to do this all day, but I still try to. There are months when I am super busy, lately tracking the price of BTC has been more important but when the earth quakes, no one cares what the price of Bitcoin is. I am lucky to live where there aren't many quakes, but this past week we even had a few and that is concerning.

The largest quakes always get the most attention, and rightly so. As you can see here, there have been 8 earthquakes larger than Mag6.0 this week, and that warrents a Hive post for sure.

M 6.9 - Macquarie Island region

South of New Zealand, certainly concerning. Why is this region quaking?

'the Macquarie Ridge Complex, a highly active plate boundary where the Australian Plate and Pacific Plate interac'* , 'ongoing motion and interaction between the Australian and Pacific Plates build up tectonic stress'*

I've been noting quakes down there for a while.

This has been ongoing-- but energy flows, neither created nor destroyed.

Where will the next large Mag8 or Mag9 quake strike?
Hopefully somewhere far away from the cities.

I've already prepared for the BIG ONE that is now overdue along the southwest coast of BC. I've even got an Inergy Solar powered generator to operate my washer, hot plate, hair dryer or EV if need be.

After Thailand this is the big one. May be something dangerous is waiting for us.

I hope this was pressure being let off, but with quakes still shaking that same spot offshore Russia, I wonder where it will go next. Stay safe!

Yes there is a probability of some dangerous incidents in that spot.
