Countdown to Apophis NEO Asteroid approaching Earth April 13 2029
Is that enough detail in the title to get your interest? I have been watching the sky and learning about the heavens. The falling stars are a great risk of course one that we have all heard about from the legends of the Dinosaurs. They are mere legends because the facts are few and far between.
99942 Apophis (2004 MN4) ~ 2029-Apr-13 21:46 ± < 00:01

Apophis is between 300m and 380m, about as large as the Statue of Liberty,

the Empire State Building, or the worlds tallest tree Hyperion.

[A photo of Apophis, indicated by the horizontal arrow, taken with the Virtual Telescope Project's "Elena" telescope. | Gianluca Masi/Virtual Telescope Project/Gianluca Masi/Virtual Telescope Project] There is nothing to fear, it should pass by harmlessly, but the opportunity for observations will be unprecedented! Space missions might be at risk, I wonder who will get to see it up close?

Apophis could dip as low as 31,000km but that is still way high in the sky.
Countdown to April 13 2029

There might be a few shooting stars!
