Do you know that despite the fact that our brain performs lots of life functions, it gets tired at times? Once the brain is tired, then it requires nutrients to make it function optimally.

Most times, some people complains of migraine, headache, unusual tiredness after short activities and many more. One of the major cause of this is "Dehydration". When the body looses water, it becomes tired and thirst (the urge to drink water) sets in. Same situation is applicable to our brain, whenever it gets tired, what it means is that you need to hydrate yourself by drinking more of water. Once you've succeeded, you will later discover a relief in your system as most unwanted debris will be evacuated with time.

Water is essential for life and the human body is composed of about 60% water by volume. Without water, life processes will never be possible. As water is a symbol of life to our body, same is applicable to our brain cells. Once there's water in our body, their is stability or balance. So to boost the brain's efficiency, there is a crucial need for water hydration for osmotic balance.

Whenever you have your meal, there is a need to drink more of water. You need water in your brain to reason effectively and stay healthy, refreshed and energized all day. As you wake up as usually early morning, never skip drinking a glass cup of water to hydrate you for the day. It's very essential for the brain cells.

Second cause of brain tiredness is due to the lack of glucose or its underutilization in the body. The end product of most of the food we take is glucose (which is the simplest unit of sugar known as monosaccharide). Our brain utilizes glucose as fuel for the day's activities. When there's a depletion in the level of glucose supply to the brain, the brain becomes tired or exhausted which might give rise diverse brain health issues or challenges.

Morealso, addiction to bright light or blue light from your computer and mobile devises can cause you migraine. Limit the amount of time you spend watching a television movie series and computer.

Other causes may include diabetes, lack of good sleep, disabilities,

In conclusion, always hydrate yourself at intervals especially during hot weather, rest and have a good sleep when due, avoid excessive blue light penetrating your eye from your mobile devices and computer screens, and add more of carbs to your diet for more supply of brain glucose to boost your brain activities while those diabetic should avoid sugar as much as possible and abide by the laid down prescriptions given to them by their health professionals.

Drinking enough water is very important.
Specially if you are studying or sit in front of computer for long hours.
Balanced diet and good sleep are important too.
Thanks for discussing this topic and spreading awareness through this article.

We always hear about all the overall health benefits of drinking plenty of water, but I admit brain performance was never the one I thought about. I guess that makes sense, thanks for the explanation.
One possibly dumb question. Many weight loss diets, including some of the ones I consider legit (not many), recommend cutting down drastically on carbs. This is opposite to the carbs intake increase you mentioned for glucose supply. Should that be considered when setting up a diet plan?

Cutting down on carbs is recommended for weight losers because their body system already contains excess carbs which has been converted and stored as fat. Such people will hardly experience brain tiredness due to this fact because the brain have its way of leveraging on ketone body from fat when carb supply is limited in the body. So it's advisable that when setting up a diet plan, cutting down on carbs should be considered for an overweight or obese individual.
