From Disaster to Pro Design - Leveling Up My Son’s Class Logo with Pro Metallic Effects [ENG/SPA]
In my post yesterday, I shared the details of the logo unveiling ceremony for my oldest son's high school graduation. I mentioned that the logo chosen by the school authorities had to be presented on a printed banner, so the "logo designers" were asked to adjust it for the job. However, what they delivered left a lot to be desired.

En mi publicación de ayer contaba los detalles de lo que fue el acto de develación de Logo de la Promoción de Graduación de Bachillerato de mi hijo mayor. Mencioné que el logo escogido por las autoridades debía ser presentado impreso en un pendón, así que de le pidió a los "diseñadores del logo" que lo ajustarán para tal tarea, pero lo que entregaron dejo mucho que desear.
Even though I’m not a professional designer—I lean more toward animation in After Effects—I know a few things that could help improve the artwork they submitted for the banner. I don’t want to be overly critical; they’re just 16-year-old kids who are just starting out and have a lot to learn. Here is what they presented:
Aunque no soy diseñador de profesión y me inclino más hacia la animación en After Effects, se algunas cosas que podían ayudar a mejorar lo que presentaron como arte para el pendon. No quiero criticar pero son unos jóvenes de 16 años que apenas comienzan y tienen mucho que aprender. Acá les muestro lo que ellos presentaron.
The organizing committee wasn't happy with this artwork at all. My wife, knowing I could support her, asked for my help. But since my PC was stolen, I had to figure out how to improve it or create something new using just my phone. The first thing they told me was that the logo needed a metallic look; what the "designers" had turned in was just a gray logo with a gradient, as you can see in the previous image. I know how to create gold and chrome effects in Photoshop, but I had no idea how to do it on a phone—until it occurred to me to create a prompt so AI could do it for me.
Al comité organizador no le gustó para nada este arte, así que mi esposa sabiendo que podía apoyarle, me pidió ayuda, pero me robaron mi PC así que me tocaba ver cómo mejorar o crear un nuevo arte con el teléfono. Lo primero que me indicaron fue que el logo debía tener apariencia de metalizado y que lo que los "diseñadores" entregaron era un logo de color gris con degradado como se aprecia en la imagen anterior. Yo sé cómo hacer el efecto dorado y cromado con Photoshop pero en el teléfono no tenía idea, hasta que se me ocurrió crear un prompt para que la IA lo hiciera por mi.

This was the prompt I used, which you might find useful for any image you want to give this look to. Just keep in mind that you'll need to make adjustments based on your specific image:
Este fue el prompt que utilice y que te puede servir para aplicarlo a cualquier imagen que deseas darle este aspecto. Ten en cuenta que deberás hacer ajustes según tu imagen:
Recreate the image of the subject with a high-quality 3D rendering, made of molten liquid chrome and gleaming silver. The image should have a mercury texture with an ultra-polished, reflective metallic surface. The style should be futuristic Y2K aesthetic, maintaining its fluid, aerodynamic curves and sharp edges. Add dramatic studio lighting that creates high contrast, with optical and prismatic lens flares in the corners. The background should be completely black. Photorealistic rendering, 8k resolution, ray tracing.
After several adjustments to the instructions, removing the background, and resizing it to ensure the best possible quality for large-format printing, this was the result:

Now that I had the logo with the metallic effect, it was time to put the new artwork together. I applied the same prompt to the lettering so it would have the same effect. Then, I placed everything on a green background that fades to black at the edges, adding some lens flares and a bit of smoke for a touch of drama. The result
Ahora con el logo con el efecto metalizado, tocaba armar el nuevo arte. Para esto aplique el mismo prompt a las letras para que tuvieran el mismo efecto. Luego dispuse todo en un fondo verde en el centro que se oscurece hacia los bordes, con otro destello y un poco de humo para dramatismo. El resultado
