What's MBTI? What's An ENTJ? How Do They Think?

MBTI stands for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator - a personality assessment tool made by Isabel Briggs Myers & Katharine Cook Briggs. I've been posting bunch of MBTI related content lately. MBTI is the most popular of personality assessment tool. It's got very good reasons to be so - including memes 🎨😎

Dummy Version

Based on four dichotomies: Extraversion vs. Introversion, Sensing vs. Intuition, Thinking vs. Feeling, and Judging vs. Perceiving. Each person is assigned a four-letter code based on their responses to the assessment.

Cognitive Functions Based Version

Use Cases

MBTI can be used to help individuals understand their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as how they interact with others. It can also be used to improve communication and teamwork within a group or organization. MBTI isn't a measure of intelligence or aptitude. It's about COGNITIVE FUNCTIONS!

That makes MBTI the coolest tool to get to know people! I know what my type is. I know my cognitive functions! So what if I replace them with other functions! Then I can better understand these aliens 👽

Before You Try ⚠️

Test-retest reliability is kind of all over the place. For some folks results may vary significantly if they take the test multiple times. It's based on forced-choice questions. It's meant to put you in 1 of 16 types. So don't expect anything too personalized.

Rare types like NT or NF types will find a community they can finally relate to. More common types won't exactly be like "finally someone understands me". YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary

That's Why I Won't Recommend A Test

There's actually few ways to figure out your type 😊

  1. Take an official MBTI assessment from certified pros
  2. Lots of online tests
  3. Learn cognitive functions & reflect on them
  4. Feedback from others

Online test is the most accessible! I've had few types received as answer.

It Always End With TP

So I'm pretty sure about that part. I'm a THINKER for sure. I also prefer improvise over meticulous plan! Other stuff has changed a bit. Most common answer: INTP

Is that a sure answer? It's at least close!

I relate with INTP a lot. Other NTs are cool too. I've had cool experiences with ENFP, INFP, ESTP types.

ENTJ Interviewed By INTP

What typical internet say isn't really helpful. Few random quotes that's semi-helpful

  • People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal
  • Individuals with the ENTJ personality type are outgoing, assertive, and confident. They are natural leaders and are often seen as decisive and strategic
  • They are also highly organized and efficient, and can be impatient with those who don't share their sense of purpose
  • ENTJs are often comfortable in the business world, and excel in management, sales, and executive positions

If you think this whole MBTI is like Sun Signs now - I can see where you're going! That's why interviews from real types is needed. It's important to know that people are different. But they can be categorized.

Here's Into Mind Of A Real ENTJ

Imagine someone of that type coming across the interview! This stuff checks out with ENTJs I know. I'm wiser after watching that interview! I can better understand some people in my life.

I know not all of you guys are gonna watch that looooong video. So let's try something short & fun.

People like that exist. MBTI can group these people together in a way all types can have a language to figure out how gears turn for other types.

More Samuel Park - ENTJ

This isn't an endorsement of any of his content. This is al about trying to understand. Different types are more likely to act in specific ways. It's kind of like politics & religion. To argue or even communicate - 1st we must understand each other.

More I try different tools - more I realize MBTI as the best way!

  • Easy to use
  • Easy to understand
  • Easy to talk/meme about

That's just good enough for most situations. Keep in mind these are broad categories. Keep in mind MBTI is imperfect. After than you're good to go take on the world with a new handy psychological tool 😆🔧
