Get Your Web 3 SocialFi Account In 60 Seconds Or Login With Google or X
How often you see that about Hive? Does any of our marketing TELL people to get an account in 60 seconds??? It's actually doable. Folks care about SocialFi. Many fads came & went. Nobody seemed to care about Hive.
I Just Realized Hive Has Top Notch Onboarding 🤯

Problems Are In Early Funnel & Late Funnel 🕵️
It took me a while to realize this! I got in 6 years ago. Everything was a lot different. We weren't Hive back then. It was Steem. There weren't a ton of wallets. There were barely few front ends. I had to go out of my way and even wait few days to get a bloody account 😴
That's not what I see today. Wasteland on Hive is caused by something else. Fix that & we'll be back in growth.
- No one sticks around
- No one makes accounts
People Have 60 Secs To Spare 🕒
Just make them curious enough to click. I've seen some Hive user interactions on X. They did't look the best ways to onboard new users. Everyone focus on value. I made the same mistake! Nobody gives a damn about good things, changing the world, ownership, censorship, technology..........
What they do is mindless engagement! Just give them that!
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn. - Chinese Proverb/Benjamin Franklin
Wanna See Something Cool 😎💥🚀
Wix is a successful company that made tons of normies into web devs. They made everything easy and sold it to right audience in right style. Steem already figured a way to do social media on blockchain. We've seen enough alternatives fail over the years. But we're are not gaining mainstream adoption either 😐
Now imagine yourself some 60 second tutorials on doing something cool on Hive. User accounts are like ENS domains. Tell folks they can get vitalik.eth but on Hive in 60 seconds. Show them how to do it.
TELL THEM TO GET AN ACCOUNT 📣
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.
Not even sure who made these famous quotes. Internet has many opinions on who said what. But we can test if its true. Just look at your own life! Even take a look at what sunk cost has made you do.
Look at what other successes stories of mass adoption. Canva, Uber, Reddit, Quora, Yelp and even X has option to log in with Google. Most Web apps have option to log with some popular login method.
We have the same feature!
Tell people you meet to just sign in with Google or X. If they like games/NFT - tell them to go to Splinterlands and get in with MetaMask. They can download their keys once they care 🔑
Quick Recap 📝
- Don't explain what Hive is.
- Get them to make an account ASAP.
- Web 2 & other crypto wallets can onboard users under 60 secs.
- Show them few popular apps.
- Tell them Keychain and self custody unlocks more cool stuff.
- Get more folks to show help new users find their footing.

This post deserves it
I definitely support this idea. It is simple and without the distasteful marketing tactics. HIVE must focus its efforts on getting people to just do something cool (like inscribing whatever they want on blockchain) and even get paid for it. We should not even push the earnings too far. Make users feel like they are being a part of something historic. I promoted this post with some of my Ecency Points. There must be more eyeballs on this article.
These are some great thoughts! One thing to add here is they need to like where they land after logging in with Twitter or whatever, or that's the first and last time they do it. Hard to keep people interested these days.
Maybe first time I hear about Inji, but I see it's been around for some time. Regarding Splinterlands, it only creates Hive accounts for people who buy the spellbook (10$).
It's probably for the best. There's no point making accounts for users that are not invested enough. Accounts are costly to create.
InLeo is probably the best. We should have a quick way to explore other Hive Dapps from from any Dapp. A quick like to https://hive.io/eco is a start.
