Greetings Fine Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and outlying villages!

We have been having a lazy day today, and I have mostly been hanging out with the Dad-Hooman since we had a lot of stuff to catch up with, after the family weekend!

Taters the cat starred in the first cat video from space!

Cat Videos From Space!

Small but interesting news item came across our path today!

Evidently NASA has been testing the ability to send high-resolution video to Earth from deep space. And so it came to pass that a video of Taters the cat chasing the infuriating red dot was sent to Earth from a spacecraft 19 million miles away!

No, Taters didn't actually go to space, it was just a transmission of a video taken at Taters' home with a JPL employee in Pasadena, California.

Still, goes to show that we cats infiltrate pretty much everywhere, and I'm pretty sure that when deep space travel for Hoomans becomes a real thing, having "ship's cats" will also become a real thing, thanks to our adaptable nature.

Cats IN Space?

What you might not know is that the first (and only) cat to actually go to space was a French cat named Félicette was was launched into space in October 1963 (60 years ago!) as part of the early French Space Program.

This was during the early days of space travel, and Félicette was only in space for nine minutes before returning safely to Earth.

Sadly, she did not get to live a long life... "in the name of science."

Sometimes, I don't know about you Hoomans! Well... some of you.

I control the horizontal... and the vertical...
