[ENG-ESP] The Hidden Nature of Leaves 🌿🍃 // La Naturaleza Oculta de las Hojas 🌿🍃
Hello friends of Hive, first of all, I hope you are enjoying with family and friends, the final stages of the year 2021. Undoubtedly, this year was quite busy in our platform, and many topics that were discussed, commented and even investigated, were not enough to satisfy our desire to talk more about a topic of possible collective interest. However, before the end of the year, I felt the need to touch on one of those topics that unfortunately had escaped me throughout this season.
Hola amigos de Hive, antes que nada, espero estén disfrutando al lado de familiares y amigos, los compases finales del año 2021. Sin dudas, este año tuvo bastante ajetreo en nuestra plataforma, y muchos temas que fueron tratados, comentados e incluso investigados, no fueron suficientes para saciar nuestras ganas de hablar más, de una temática de posible interés colectivo. Sin embargo, antes de acabar el año, me vi en la necesidad de tocar uno de esos temas, que lamentablemente se me habían escapado a lo largo de esta temporada.
The hidden nature of leaves; I admit, it might sound corny, but it is a subject that we humans certainly ignore completely. Generally, we forget to pay attention to the details of plants, which are so beneficial and crucial to our existence. Therefore, it is necessary to remember some key details of the function of leaves in plants.
La naturaleza oculta de las hojas; lo admito, podría sonar cursi, pero es una temática que ciertamente nosotros los seres humanos, ignoramos por completo. Ya que generalmente, olvidamos ponerle atención a los detalles de las plantas, que tan beneficiosas y cruciales para nuestra existencia son. Por eso, es necesario recordar algunos detalles claves de la función de las hojas en las plantas.
First of all, let's make a small outline, about the 3 main fundamentals:
- The leaf is an organ, yes as you read it, it is a fundamental organ of plants.
- They usually have a lamellar shape or appearance, however, this may vary according to the species.
- The green coloration, which is a hallmark of leaves, is not just a nice ornamental detail, it comes from a rather complex natural phenomenon, if we put it in a complete analysis, called chlorophyll.
Primero que nada, hagamos un pequeño esquema, sobre los 3 fundamentos principales:
- La hoja es un órgano, si como lo lees, es un órgano fundamental de las plantas.
- Por lo general poseen una forma u apariencia laminar, sin embargo, esto puede variar según la especie.
- La coloración verde, que es un sello característico de las hojas, no es un simple detalle ornamental bonito, proviene de un fenómeno natural bastante complejo, si lo ponemos en un análisis completo, llamado clorofila.
Now let's couple important curiosities:
- The leaves, have 3 important classifications, all derived from the shape of its own. Where we appreciate the heart-shaped, lanceolate and sagittate.
- The coloration of the same ones, has an endless number of properties, exemplifying, the gaudy or showy colors, which denote health of the plant itself.
- The inside of the leaves, to the astonishment of many, is basically a water reservoir. Where the photosynthesizing tissue performs the task of producing the plant's transpiration.
Ahora acoplemos curiosidades importantes:
- Las hojas, tienen 3 clasificaciones importantes, todas derivadas de la forma de la propia. Dónde apreciamos las acorazonadas, lanceoladas y sagitadas.
- La coloración de las mismas, tiene un sinfín de propiedades, ejemplificando, los colores chillones o llamativos, los cuales denotan salud de la planta misma.
- El interior de las hojas, para asombro de muchos, es básicamente un reservorio de agua. Donde el tejido fotosintetizador, realiza la labor de producir la transpiración de la planta.
Llegando a estos puntos, es inequívoco argumentar que las hojas son la estructura principal de la vida botánica de las plantas. Por lo que juegan un papel fundamental, no solo en la fauna arbórea, sino, para la vida en el planeta en su totalidad.
Arriving at these points, it is unequivocal to argue that leaves are the main structure of botanical life of plants. So they play a fundamental role, not only in the arboreal fauna, but for life on the planet as a whole.
