The Impact of Stress on Physical and Mental Health
If there is something I have understand early about our body system, it is the fact that our health is really fragile. What I mean by that is if it is subjected to too much of what is not designed for, there is every tendency to start experiencing massive body effects. In as much as we want to achieve a lot of success and attend to a lot of responsibilities, sometimes it comes with a cost and that is the fact that we tend to subject our body to continuous stress.
Stress in as much as it sounds so unavoidable and true, it is not really something big that it becomes impossible to avoid or deal with. The truth is, of course at some certain stage of our lives, we can not avoid dealing with stress. For some of us, it might be because of the lots of responsibilities that is on our desk probably academically, financially, family wise and many more. For some of us, it can be the pressure from the society and lots on.
But even though stress might not really be avoidable, there are still some certain measures we can put in place to actually deal without it it because stress if not properly managed can affect our physical health. I have heard cases of people who died because of accumulated stress. Some just slump without a notice and from there, they lost their lives, after thorough checking, it was discovered it was as a result of accumulated stress in their body.
One of the things I want us to know about our body system is that whenever our body noticed a particular threat or a situation around us, it releases some certain hormones. The same way we have sexual hormones, the same we have stress hormones. Stress hormones like adrenaline and many more are released to our body system when our body noticed a particular threat around us.
That's why most of the time, when there is a sudden danger around us, our body system will react to it. Some of our body system like our heart rate will increase, we will begin to feel our blood pressure increasing and many more. All these things are happening because of stress hormones that was released to our body system. The disadvantage of these hormones is that if it is not managed effectively, it will begin to have massive health issues for some of us. Health issues like liver issues, lung issues, heart attack, cardiac arrest and many more.
Now back to the main question and that is how can I manage stress? Managing stress is not as difficult as many of us always see it to be. All it just involves is for us to put some certain structures and systems in place most especially in the aspect of our personal lifestyle changes. There are some habits you can start cultivating which can help you to manage and reduce stress.
If you engage in habits like exercise, it will goa a long way to help you manage stress. Not only that, you should also watch carefully what you eat. Make sure you always maintain a balance diet in your food intake every day so that it can increase your health state and many more. Stress at some point might not be unavoidable but it can be strictly managed effectively.
Not only that also, if you can work on cutting down unnecessary task and schedule on your daily list so that you can have time for quality sleep. Sleep always go a long way to help us deal with stress because when we engage in quality sleep, our body system is refreshed. I wrote recently about the subject matter of engaging in quality sleep, if you will like to check it out, go through my blog.
