(Edited)

Just few years back, commuting to work premises or offices was normal. Now we are in the new normal,a time where people have realised how easier it is to work remotely. The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way most people use to work. Many people found themselves working from their kitchen, living rooms or even their bedrooms. This was all possible with the internet technology and electronic gadgets.

These technologies did not just show us ways we can do our work but are giving us a glimpse into a future where work might look quite different. They are telling us more about how many of us would choose to do our work in the near future. The future is already here with lots of changes already taken place and this could change the way we work forever.

The future of work is remote and it's already here
The daily grind is not easy; waking up every morning, driving or taken a bus just to commute to work. Having a flexible work time is the aspirations of many people now. This is why the idea of ditching the daily commute and working from anywhere with the aid of technology sounds very appealing for many people. Even for companies, it sounds pretty good since it's beneficial in terms of reduced costs.

Automation is already on the rise, is it the future?
I love technology because it has the potential make our work much easier. Through technological tools like robots, today most jobs are done easily and faster. This is now pushing forth more advances in robotic systems all for work.

We should be ready for more robots working alongside human staff in the near future. Even now Artificial intelligence (AI) and automation are taking over repetitive tasks, from data entry to manufacturing. As much as we enjoy these technologies, their developments and advancements also call for concern.

Looks like they will take over most of our jobs in future, this if should happen may cause many people to loose their jobs. AI is really helping us out, creating more new opportunities but will also take over some jobs as well. The best thing we can do is to learn alongside the AI tools to create new opportunities instead of doing nothing.

Skills, will they still thrive?
The future of work will value creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. So our ability to learn and develope new skills really matter a lot. As much as the rise of AI And robots calls for concern, learning skills that's hard for these tools to replicate or do is what will give us an edge in future.

Having the technical knowledge and skills in programming, coding, building, repairing, diagnostic and the use of tools to create new opportunities will give most people so much advantage in future. What do you think about the future of work? I think the future is more exciting with technology but we can't also overlook the fact that it will also presents some challenges.

The key to overcoming any future challenge will depend on how well we've prepared. This preparations includes the right skills we've learned and the knowledge we have acquired. What do you think about the future of work?

I've imagined that skills will become multi dimensional, like joining different skills together. I personally prefer the new normal in terms of how we work, more flexibility to individuals but on the other hand, it also requires becoming more disciplined. Exciting times ahead for the future of work.
