Magnetic Revolution: Diamonds and Rust Rewrite Physics Textbooks

One of the holy grails of physics is to find a magnetic monopole. If you have noticed, a magnet has never been spotted to possess only on pole (monopole), if you try to isolate the north pole of a magnet from the south pole by breaking it, you would still get a magnet with two poles - only that the magnet would be smaller than the original. However way you produce a magnet, it would always be observed to possess two poles. Today we know electricity and magnetism are strongly related to each other, they are almost dependent on each other for their existence. If we could have isolated charges, why can't we have isolated magnetic poles ?
The famous Maxwell's equations that describes all classical electromagnetic phenomenon predicts no monopoles, this is what makes the equations appear asymmetric but it doesn't mean that monopoles may not exist, the equations doesn't forbid it or explain why it shouldn't even exist. For a very long time scientists have been searching for it's existence, all to no avail but in this report, researchers seem to have spotted it....keep reading to find out more. ‘Wobbly spacetime’ may help resolve contradictory physics theories

Still on the holy grails of physics, we aren't done yet. This one is about having a theory of everything and it has been pursued for a very long time, including by Einstein himself but no one has actually succeeded, especially in terms testable experimental predictions. Theoretically, there's a fundamental problem and it's that general relativity and quantum physics are incompatible. General relativity predicts a deterministic reality but quantum physics predicts a nondeterministic reality (probabilistic), general relativity relies on continuum while quantum physics relies on discreteness (quantization). To be able to unify both theories, one of them has to be compromised, leading candidates such as string theory and loop quantum gravity modifies general relativity by making spacetime quantized but they are yet to give testable predictions. In this report, some researchers are suggesting the approach of spacetime quantization may be wrong, in fact a new theoretical framework that could help in unifying the theories, including with testable predictions has been proposed to challenge the popular leading candidates for a theory of everything and you wouldn't believe what they discovered.........keep reading to find out more. Scientists Have Reported a Breakthrough In Understanding Whale Language

Language can come in various forms, the most popular/common being in the form of sound. I'm currently communicating with you using another form written/typed form and the language being English. There are rules to combining different sounds/symbols of language to make meaningful words and sentences, one of the first things to know is the alphabets followed by the classification of alphabets, for example in English we have vowels and consonants. It's quite amazing how we were able to develop such language formalisms but it looks like we (humans) may not be the only ones to have complex language structure, a certain kind of whale seem to be able to communicate in a complex language almost as similar to that of man.......keep reading. Genes That Boost Fertility Also Shorten Our Life, Study Suggests

There are those who have more natural tendency of producing offsprings and there are those who have less. I think the right word for that is fertility but do you think those with higher fertility are better off ?

I mean, everyone of us who dream of starting our own family also wishes to be very fertile. In this report, it appears being more fertile comes with a greater cost later in life, sacrifices must be made. So what's this sacrifice that's inevitably to be made ?
