Chips installed in the brain - Elon Musk's new frontier

Elon Musk has always been very involved in scientific research to improve the quality of life. Tesla is the first real company that has invested in electric cars and it has certainly been far-sighted since today the entire sector is radically investing in green cars and all companies are clearly behind Musk's company.

In addition to Tesla, Elon Musk has created a company called Neuralink and today he is on the pages of all the newspapers of the world for the study on chips installed in people's heads having just received authorization from the Food and drug administration (Fda ), the US Food and Pharmaceutical Regulator, which had denied approval for the third time only in March 2023.

The study carried out by the company aims to help people with brain diseases, currently incurable except with palliative care, promising enormous benefits for patients. Imagine, for example, paralytic people, electrical nerve stimulation could help and improve patients in walking or in small daily movements. The premises are therefore very exciting indeed.

The chip implantation process will be automated by a robot, being more reliable than a human hand. The side effects are not yet determinable since human trials have not yet started. So far the study has only carried out experiments on animals with increasingly promising results.

The most skeptics are dubious about the reaction and the effects of lithium batteries in the brain of patients, which is essential for the correct functioning of the chip. Experimentation will continue for the next few months and years, before being definitively launched on the market, and the feeling is that Elon Musk has also been the forerunner of this sector, demonstrating a great affinity with technology and its application in the life of the man.

Technology can be used to bring great benefits but, as with everything, if not managed with caution it can bring enormous damage.

Wow! It has regulatory approval to conduct the first clinical trial of its experimental device in humans! Neuralink has created a device that restores human function and also enhances it.

As far as I know he didn't got any approval to start experiments on humans. This is a showstopper to Neuralink and only if he gets pass it, it will really change the world.

I agree with your final conclusion, technology can create huge benefits as well as huge harms, so it needs to be handled really well. Furthermore, when excellent technologies fall into the wrong hands, very bad things can happen
