A Wednesday Walk in the deep Depths of Royal Cave at the Buchan Caves, Gippsland, Victoria- VIDEO ON 3SPEAK TOO!
Hi there folks, wherever you are wandering around the world to share your walks with us here on the Hive Blockchain, I hope that you're all well and enjoying life today while far too many others around the world can't......
Last Wednesday I took you on a tour of the Buchan Caves Reserve Campground where Indy Jean, my little navigator and I set up camp in the cold and wet for a couple of days here https://peakd.com/hive-155530/@chocolatescorpi/wenesday-walk-in-the-wilds-of-victorias-buchan-valley but that didn't spoil our fun as I had the chance to do something that I have wanted to do for a long long time and that my dear departed Mum wanted to do for decades but never had the chance to, so this is for you Mum.
It was really hard to shoot down there so please excuse the very average photos of this magical marvel and go to see it for yourself instead!
I also uploaded a video to 3speak with the intent on combing the 2, but now I'm not sure if I can or not...but I guess I will soon find out!
Here is the link to the video on 3Speak

with nervous anticipation, I followed the group of strangers, as we carefully made our way down into the DARK DEPTHS of the earth.
I was truly utterly exhausted from the emotional and traumatic rollercoaster that I had been through for the past few months with the illness and death of my dad, and I desperately wanted to go somewhere and have a couple of days' worth of peace, rest, and relaxation before getting back into the grind in Melbourne.
As I had driven past the turnoff to Buck caves 100 times over the last few years, each time desperately wanting to go in there but not having enough time, I decided that this was finally the time.
I was so tired there were even a few moments before I bought the ticket and even after I bought the ticket that I wanted to back out, but I forced myself to go, and I’m so glad I did.
So please excuse the heavy breathing during the video; not only was I exhausted after sitting in our hospital room with my dad every day for a good couple of months, but I wasn’t at my fittest, and it was actually really hot and humid in there too, even though it was so cold outside.

ChocolateScorpi is so incredibly grateful to the the Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of this beautiful land that I call home and I thank you for caring for it for so long.
I also want to extend my gratitude to the Gunaikurnai people, who are the Traditional Owners of much of Gippsland, including the Krauatungalung, Tatungalung, Brabralung, Brayakaulung, Brataualung clans, their elders, past, present, future and emerging as they too seek to take care of the Magnificent area that they have called home for tens of thousands of years.
I pay my respects to elders, past, present and emerging and offer our hand to all first nations hands in order to help heal all of our relationships to the earth on this truly magical and extraordinary island nation that we now all call home.

The extraordinary beauty inside the cave, highlighted with colored lights lights makes you enchanted. Thank you. Greetings happy day.
So glad that you enjoyed it. I wish there were more lights in there to highlight it all. and they were very hot lights for the camera to be able to focus on too.
Unfortunately because the lighting in there is not good for cameras, I had to do a lot of post production n photoshop on them first...
But thank you once again and I hope that you have a brilliant day too!
How are you dear friend @chocolatescorpi good morning
What a beautiful place to visit, but best of all, it is a place that your mother has wanted to visit forever, it is wonderful that if you could visit them
I appreciate that you let us know the beautiful photographs
Good Morning
wow amazing caves I am always taken back and in awe seeingthe staligtites and stalignites
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
Have a great day :)
Yeah me too and it's funny although we were down there for apparently an hour, it did not feel like it at all and I felt quite rushed, even though I was always at the back of the line dragging my feet trying to get as many shots in as possible- and as you know, when you're on a guided tour, there's no time to stop, and just breathe it all in- especially when your clicking away and looking at everything through a lens rather than being more relaxed about it to just enjoy it....
But I will go back again and tour the Fairy cave next time, in summer though.
I didn't even get to see the little village of Buchan because I was really only there for 2 days and it was wet and cold and windy and I had Indy with me and we were both pretty exhausted, so spent a lot of the time huddled up in the tent...So yeah, definitley summer and definitely longer next time.
Great pictures. Looking realty spooky.. They want over 30 dollars a person in some caves here in the states.
Yeah I can imagine, though they would still be wroth it- IF you can spend a long time in their AND you're not shoulder to shoulder with too many other people.
Thanks, I'm glad that you enjoyed them but it was really hard to shoot in there due to the unsuitable lighting and my own exhaustion, so LOTS of post production on all the video and photos...
I'd like to see Mammoth cave over there, but I'm sure that there are others that would be just as good too.
I have a fascination with caves, and I only been in 2, but have written plenty of stories featuring caves in them...🤣
I wish that I had've discovered caves when I was younger so I could become a proper Spelunker!
Oh and don't get me started on cave diving! I wish!
Dayum! That's a wowzer! The beauty inside the cave took me on an enchanting journey deep into the Earth's mysteries. Simple magical! Please take me there now!!!
Thank you for sharing @chocolatescorpi !
OMG yes, it is truly a magical, marvelous mystery just waiting to be discovered and explored more!
So glad that you enjoyed it- next time you can come with me when I go back to tour the Fairy Cave too! 😃
