Hola amigos de hive, espero que estén teniendo un lunes muy bonito y les deseo una hermosa y productiva semana.

Hoy escribo para contarles como me fue el martes pasado en la feria de ciencias de mi colegio, como pudieron leer en el título del post fue un poco caótico ya que la actividad no pudo culminar como era planificado por una lluvia muy fuerte y además ninguno de mis experimentos obtuvo premio jajajaja

Hello hive friends, I hope you are having a nice Monday and I wish you a beautiful and productive week.

Today I am writing to tell you how I did last Tuesday at my school science fair, as you could read in the title of the post it was a bit chaotic because the activity could not finish as planned due to a heavy rain and also none of my experiments got a prize hahahaha.

Primero quiero aclarar que la semana pasada estuve inactivo en hive porque estoy terminando mi ultimo año de bachillerato y he estado muy full de actividades en el colegio y esta es una prueba en realidad jajajaja.

Como ya les dije esto ocurrió el martes, ese día teníamos que llevar varios proyectos de diferentes materias, una maqueta de biología del desarrollo embrionario de los anfibios en el cual yo participe aportando dinero, ya que mi compañera dijo que lo iba a hacer ella sola con plastilinas y que solo requería de nuestra colaboración para comprar la plastilina, para química y física un experimento que se relacionara con la química y otro con la física.

First I want to clarify that last week I was inactive in hive because I am finishing my last year of high school and I have been very full of activities at school and this is a test really hahaha.

As I told you this happened on Tuesday, that day we had to carry several projects of different subjects, a model of biology of the embryonic development of amphibians in which I participated by contributing money, as my partner said she was going to do it alone with plasticine and only required our collaboration to buy the plasticine, for chemistry and physics an experiment that was related to chemistry and another with physics.

Para física yo tenía planeado llevar un globo aerostático, una compañera lo iba a hacer y me pidió que colaborara con algunos palillos de altura, sin embargo ella nos quedó mal, pues se enfermó todo el fin de semana y llegó el día de la feria con un globo y una aguja en las manos. Nuestro experimento era un globo que no explotaba, y suena un poco raro, pero en realidad debido a la tensión que el globo tiene en la parte del nudo al puyarlo con la aguja no se explotaba.

Admito que no me molesté porque la pude entender, estas ultimas semana hemos estado demasiado llenos de actividades y evaluaciones, además estaba enferma así que la entendí perfectamente.

For physics I had planned to take a hot air balloon, a colleague was going to do it and asked me to collaborate with some high sticks, however she was bad for us, because she was sick all weekend and arrived the day of the fair with a balloon and a needle in her hands. Our experiment was a balloon that didn't pop, and it sounds a little weird, but actually due to the tension that the balloon has in the knot part of the balloon when you poke it with the needle it didn't pop.

I admit that I didn't get upset because I could understand it, these last weeks we have been too full of activities and evaluations, plus I was sick so I understood it perfectly.

La dinámica para escoger al ganador era que varios chicos y chicas de grados menores iban a pasar en grupo por cada uno de nuestros stands y nosotros debíamos explicarles nuestros experimentos. A pesar de tener 0 esperanzas de ganar igual expuse mi experimento con mucho entusiasmo, y las primeras dos veces funcionó, sin embargo a la tercera vez el globo explotó y me dio mucha pena jajajajaja.

habían muchos experimentos geniales y mucho más producidos que el mío, en lo que tuve un tiempo me di una vuelta por los demás stand y aproveché de tirarle fotos a los experimentos y maquetas que más me llamaron la atención.

The dynamic to choose the winner was that several boys and girls from younger grades were going to pass in groups through each of our booths and we had to explain our experiments to them. Despite having zero hope of winning I still presented my experiment with a lot of enthusiasm, and the first two times it worked, however the third time the balloon exploded and I was very sad hahahahahaha.

There were many great experiments and much more produced than mine, so when I had some time I went around the other booths and took the opportunity to take pictures of the experiments and models that caught my attention.

A mitad de la actividad cuando apenas estaba pasando el cuarto grupo de chicos por mi stand empezó a caer una lluvia demasiado fuerte, y a pesar de que la cancha de mi liceo es techada todo el agua entró y nos mojó a todos y también a los proyectos.

Fue bastante frustrante porque muchos grupos no tuvieron ni siquiera la oportunidad de exponer sus experimentos, además de eso muchos experimentos quedaron arruinados debido a la lluvia. Pero aquí entre nosotros le diré algo, yo también le vi el lado positivo a la lluvia porque en realidad llevaba desde la mañana parado y ya estaba cansado de eso y también de tener que explicarle a muchas personas el por qué de un globo que no explota jajajajaja.

In the middle of the activity when the fourth group of kids was just passing by my stand, a heavy rain started to fall, and despite the fact that my high school's field is roofed, all the water came in and got us all wet and also the projects.

It was quite frustrating because many groups did not even have the opportunity to exhibit their experiments, besides that many experiments were ruined due to the rain. But here between us I will tell you something, I also saw the positive side of the rain because in reality I had been standing since the morning and I was already tired of it and also of having to explain to many people why a balloon does not explode hahahahahaha.

Los premios para primer, segundo y tercer lugar se veían muy buenos, sin embargo yo estaba mentalizado a perder, pues todos llevaron experimentos y maquetas realmente buenas y lo mío no era particularmente muy llamativo.

Luego de que escampara las profesoras presentes hicieron el conteo de los votos de los pocos alumnos que pudieron presentar y como ya dije no fui ganador, sin embargo dos personas de mi sección se llevaron los dos primeros premios lo que hice que me alegrara mucho.

El primer lugar se lo llevó el grupo de mi amiga Rogelyts que junto con su grupo hicieron una lampara de lava en un bombillo, logré capturar un vídeo en el que se ve muy genial su experimento. El segundo lugar se lo llevó el grupo de mi amiga Paola que en esta ocasión hizo un volcán, ella se fue por lo seguro y ganó, ella estaba muy feliz y me encantó verla ganando.

The prizes for first, second and third place looked very good, however I was mentally prepared to lose, because everyone had really good experiments and models and mine was not particularly striking.

After the rain had cleared the teachers present counted the votes of the few students who were able to present and as I said I was not the winner, however two people from my section took the two first prizes which made me very happy.

First place went to my friend Rogelyts group who together with her group made a lava lamp in a light bulb, I managed to capture a video in which it looks very cool their experiment. Second place went to my friend Paola's group who this time made a volcano, she went for the safe thing and won, she was very happy and I was delighted to see her winning.

Lego de anunciar los ganadores ya no quedaba más por hacer, como ya la lluvia se había calmado aproveché de irme rápidamente a mi casa antes de que lloviera de nuevo. Fue un día genial realmente. Me hubiera gustado esforzarme mucho más, pero realmente estos últimos días de clase han sido muy fuertes y no tuve mucho tiempo de preparar algo mejor, además de que contaba con mi compañera que iba a hacer un globo aerostático.

After announcing the winners there was no more to do, since the rain had calmed down I took the opportunity to quickly go home before it rained again. It was a really great day. I would have liked to try much harder, but really these last days of class have been very strong and I didn't have much time to prepare something better, plus I was counting on my partner who was going to make a hot air balloon.
