Mi Experiencia Actualizando Canaima 8.0 por Q4OS de Debian

Saludos amigos de Hive y de @geekzone, hoy voy a compartir ustedes mi experiencia, en la actualización del Sistema Operativo Canaima al sistema Q4OS, en el Centro Bolivariano de Informática y Telemática CBIT del municipio Zamora, estado Aragua.

Greetings, friends of Hive and @geekzone. Today I am going to share with you my experience upgrading the Canaima operating system to Q4OS at the Bolivarian Centre for Information Technology and Telematics (CBIT) in the municipality of Zamora, Aragua state.

Cabe destacar que este espacio CBIT, fue seleccionado para jornada de registro en Sistema de Gestión Escolar SIGE, en la cual se registran los datos de los estudiantes, para llevar un control de la información escolar. Este sistema se encuentra en la Web a través de la dirección https://gescolar.mppe.gob.ve/login, pero resulta que el sistema operativo que tenían cada computadora era Canaima 8.0, y al abrir el SIGE en el navegador de Firefox, presentaba un error, el cual se requiere que esté el navegador actualizado.

It should be noted that this CBIT space was selected for registration in the School Management System (SIGE), in which student data is recorded to keep track of school information. This system can be found on the Web at https://gescolar.mppe.gob.ve/login, but it turns out that the operating system on each computer was Canaima 8.0, and when SIGE was opened in the Firefox browser, an error occurred, requiring the browser to be updated.

Asimismo en vista de este problema, se procedió a descargar la imagen ISO de la nueva versión de Canaima 8.3, una vez descargada se instalo en un pendrive con la herramienta Ultraido. Se cambió la secuencia de booteo de la computadora para que cargará Canaima 8.3 en el pendrive, este se instalo, pero al reiniciar el equipo, el sistema abrió correctamente. Por otro lado tuvimos que buscar otras opciones, ya que este sistema corre era en software propietario Windows 10.

In view of this problem, we proceeded to download the ISO image of the new version of Canaima 8.3. Once downloaded, it was installed on a USB stick using the Ultraido tool. The computer's boot sequence was changed so that it would load Canaima 8.3 from the USB stick. It was installed, but when the computer was restarted, the system opened correctly. On the other hand, we had to look for other options, since this system was running on proprietary Windows 10 software.

Por eso otro compañeros nos recomendaron instalar Q4OS, una versión de software libre, de distribución Debían, el cual es más liviano y corre en equipo que no requieren grandes cantidades de disco duro y memoria, ya que la computadora son de la marca VIT, con una memoria ram de 1GB. Este sistema está disponible en esta dirección https://www.q4os.org/. Al descargar la imagen ISO, que pesa 1GB, se copia está imagen en pendrive mediante un programa como Ultraido, para que el sistema sea booteable en el pendrive.

That is why other colleagues recommended that we install Q4OS, a free software version of Debian distribution, which is lighter and runs on computers that do not require large amounts of hard drive space and memory, since the computers are VIT brand, with 1GB of RAM. This system is available at https://www.q4os.org/. After downloading the ISO image, which is 1GB in size, it is copied to a USB stick using a programme such as Ultraido, so that the system can be booted from the USB stick.

Esta instalación es bastante rápido, una vez instalada, se deben actualizar algunos repositorio, para que esté funcione de forma correcta. La ventaja de este sistema es que es rápido, al descargar las aplicaciones están actualizados, en el caso de los navegadores como Firefox, se descargo actualizado, permitiendo abrir el sistema SIGE, sin ningún tipo de problema.

This installation is quite fast. Once installed, some repositories must be updated for it to work correctly. The advantage of this system is that it is fast. When downloading applications, they are updated. In the case of browsers such as Firefox, it is downloaded updated, allowing the SIGE system to be opened without any problems.

Para finalizar, les recomiendo a las personas que tengas sus computadores un poco obsoletos, pueden utilizar Q4OS, para darle uso a esos equipos que están desactualizados.

Finally, I recommend that people who have slightly outdated computers use Q4OS to make use of those devices that are no longer up to date.
