Can personal self-assessment help the learner to learn by rote?

Hello friends, on this occasion I want to share with you this educational reflection, oriented to the fact of being able to reach the conclusion of whether personal self-assessment can really help students to learn by memorization.

The first thing I am going to make clear is that I am not a supporter of this philosophical and educational current that sees learning by memorization as a priority, however I recognize that there are some learning environments that merit memorization.

To memorize something there is no specific rule, each person applies different techniques, and adapts them to their learning needs, however self-evaluation improves all learning processes, so memorization would not be an exception.

If we self-evaluate we can have a clear vision of how much progress we have made, so if our goal is to memorize, we simply must constantly self-evaluate ourselves to know if the aspects of learning by memorization are covering all the necessary elements and to be able to continue advancing.

The path to memorization must be completed by completing stages proposed by ourselves that are more and more demanding, thus guaranteeing falling into monotony and having repercussions on satisfactory learning by memorization.

Before memorizing something new, it is necessary to differentiate, analyze, separate and space content, until you see that what is memorized is well learned, I do not recommend having to memorize new content.

The conclusion of the educational process that incorporates the need to memorize elements such as dates, places, names, makes learning such as constructivist learning have to depend on other learning, which although we do not like are also necessary.

Memorization is really helpful but sometimes, if you encounter more complicated course, you need to understand the concept rather than memorizing. I've been using memorization since then but I usually have a short term memory. That's why, I had a hard time dealing with my course😭
