ADNOC is a United Arab Emirates oil company operating specifically in Abu Dhabi and that has confirmed in a statement that it has achieved cost savings of $2 billion over the past five years by leveraging advanced technologies and digitization to improve drilling efficiencies and optimize operations.

Forward-thinking companies like this one confirm that employing advanced technologies in the area of well drilling optimizes the process, by saving on investment and minimizing economic losses that can occur with good operational practices.

The other thing that this company has been able to demonstrate is that by employing advanced technologies we not only improve the well drilling process due to savings in drilling costs, but we can even increase efficiency by taking advantage of other benefits of these technologies, such as the implementation of fully integrated drilling services (IDS).

These achievements would not have been possible without this company's continued investment in digitization and cutting-edge technology.

In real practice, to give us an idea of these savings of approximately 2 billion dollars, we can say that ADNOC has had to monitor 120 wells simultaneously, but that would not have been possible without the implementation of technologies such as Big Data.

In petroleum terms and with the experience that I obtained in well drilling activities, I am going to explain each of the technologies that this petroleum company was able to apply to achieve the optimization achievements in well drilling:

This industry implemented a design in the use of a light casing pipe, of course being lighter the casing pipe used is more economical, therefore we obtain a saving in the equipment needed in the drilling and construction of the oil well.

ADNOC also implemented the use of intelligent drilling fluids, ADNOC by using this technique minimizes the percentage of operational problems such as pipe sticking that cause additional costs in the drilling and construction of petroleum wells.

An improvement in data acquisition has also contributed to this great saving, since with a renovation in data acquisition, drilling parameters can be monitored in a more optimized way. Proper supervision also minimizes costs due to operational errors and additional days drilling and constructing the well.

As a conclusion we can say that a small incorporation of digitalization combined with good decision making can save large amounts of money in the drilling of wells, and that at this time is very important because of the low oil prices in world markets. Greetings and see you in the next installment.
