Greetings to all my dear readers and followers of this important platform, continuing with my publications today I will share a very important news and that is that for the first time a transplant of an animal organ to a human body is performed, the organ which we refer to is the heart of a pig which was transplanted into the body of a patient who could not receive a transplant of a human heart.

The important scientific and technological advances that are presented in the field of health or medicine never cease to surprise us, all these relevant advances are in search of being able to improve the quality of life of many sick people who require research and important advances to survive. In this opportunity what has been done is unprecedented since for the first time in history a human being receives a heart transplant from a pig, this undoubtedly marks the before and after of the findings and advances that have been developed in the field of health.

In order to perform this transplant the pig had to undergo genetic modifications so that it does not predict a sugar that rejects this organ and prevents it from being transplanted, the surgery was performed last Friday by a group of surgeons specialists of American nationality, this news undoubtedly gives hope of life to the 57 year old patient David Bennett who was not suitable to receive a human transplant, David is currently under strict medical surveillance in order to monitor how the transplanted heart works.

Before undergoing this important but risky surgery David was bedridden connected to a life support machine that allowed him to continue clinging to the hope of living, a day before the surgery the patient said that he made the decision to have the transplant because it was either die or have the opportunity to live, although he recognizes that the decision was like a shot in the air because he did not know if he could withstand the surgery or if the heart could work, in the same way he said that after the transplant he hopes to get out of bed and return to have a normal life.

Although it is the first time in the world that this type of transplant is performed, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted the authorization for this transplant, since this was the only and last chance that the patient David Bennet had to continue living, in addition the patient mentioned above was not suitable for a conventional transplant, this last situation was what encouraged the FDA to grant the permission. The truth of the matter is that David is still alive and everything is working as expected by the doctors.
