Human behavior is a determining factor in the spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19 continues to cause a stir, as this deadly virus that has been causing millions of deaths in the world for more than one and a half years does not seem to have an end, not even with the vaccines currently on the market. On the contrary, this deadly virus has mutated several times creating variants capable of infecting and killing people in a shorter time.

However, studies have been conducted to determine why these new variants that have emerged from COVID-19 have spread faster and killed more people than the original strain. According to a study conducted by the University of Washington, the increase in infections and deaths worldwide caused by COVID-19 is not entirely the responsibility of this virus, as it was found that human behavior and the delay of some countries in implementing containment measures have caused the virus to spread faster, causing a greater number of infections and deaths per day.

The study conducted by the University of Washington consisted of the analysis of samples collected between February and July 2020 in order to see if indeed the mutation of the virus is the main reason for the daily increase in the number of infections and deaths, Once the results were obtained, the researchers came to the conclusion that although the new variants that have originated from the virus are more contagious, the main cause of the increase in the number of infections and deaths has been that people have not rigorously complied with the biosecurity norms that have been implemented to stop the spread, in addition to the delay on the part of the authorities of many countries in ordering the confinement measures.

Based on the above, the SARS-CoV-2 variants responsible for COVID-19 tend to be more easily transmissible, but the main trigger for this to happen is human behavior. The results of the research described above were published in the journal Science Translational Medicine. That is why as thinking and reasonable human beings we must abide by all the biosecurity measures that health entities worldwide are implementing to stop the spread of this virus and thus reduce the number of infections and deaths.

That means we all need to put in collective efforts to make sure we are protected from the virus

We should no negligent take the necessary precautions, and governments should also help out too

so that the virus will have no reason to spread more than it does. for humanity is more important than any politics that we are playing
