The carbon fibre sounds nice! I have 3 relatively cheap metal pennywhistles in C, D and G.

I have some Irish heritage, but believe it or not, South Africa (where I have lived all my life) has a traditional style of music that also makes use of the pennywhistle quite often called "Kwela". In this post I play some pennywhistle kwela, and sing one of its most famous Apartheid protest songs, over a guitar loop:
