Imagine If Flat Earth Was Real, and the Future Stories They Will Tell in Schools

I am not supporting "Flat Earth" in this post. All i have on that subject is enough doubt to disbelieve all current stories. In this blog i am going to discuss the many ways the current narrative would be spun in the future. I choose "Flat Earth" because everyone knows the paradigm, and it is not one where I KNOW that the current story is false, disproven, and have a good idea where the truth lies.

"The teacher stood in from of the classroom tell the students how early humans thought that the earth was a ball. Even though the holy books told everyone that the Earth is a realm. They chose to believe a lie, cooked up by a group of people who hated God and all the good religions of the world. So, they cooked up a story, about how the Earth is a ball. They made fake pictures. The made globes and put them into every classroom, to imprint young minds with the thoughts that we live on a ball travelling through empty space."
Would this teacher say, like they do today, that early humans were stupid? Or would this teacher teach how easy it is for people to tell and perpetuate lies?
Would this teacher talk about how many things in our experience are not provable, and we need to learn to live in a world where we know things aren't proven, but operate with conviction that are beliefs are true. While, simultaneously knowing that this piece of information may be changed as we learn new things while moving into the future?

Will we learn from our mistakes?
It is so easy to imagine that we would just call the people in the past, who were wrong, stupid. But, is that the most beneficial thing to do with this teaching moment?
Being wrong is science.
No, really. There is no proof for a theory. There is only evidence that it MIGHT be correct. All we can do, with our current logic, is prove a theory false. So, when you are working with science, your normal state is, your information is wrong.
But, failure leads to more successes. It should not be derided like we do in schools today. It should be praised as a step forward.
So, will we state people of the past were stupid because the believed X? I truly hope not. Because we have a lot of science to do in the future, and it is all going to start with understanding that we were wrong.

Ball Earth teaches BAD science
In the conversations of flat-earth vs ball-earth, so much of what the ball-earth people shout "is proven" is not a proof. And often, is not even evidence.
We look up at the skies, and we see other planets (wandering stars) and believe that since they are round (a circle) that our Earth is a sphere. A circle is a 2D object, and since they are far away, we cannot tell the difference between a sphere or a cylinder, or some other shape. All we know is that it is a circle. And we don't even know if they are circles, or that they are circular because they are point of light. (our eyes turn things into circles. Look into optical illusions for more on this) So, we are seeing one thing, and then assuming / extrapolating another.
We accept data as a proof, and will not revise our proof when the same data is shown differently. An example of this is that we say a boat has gone over the horizon. Everyone knows that boats disappear, because they go over the horizon, however, if you see, with your naked eyes, a boat disappear, and then pull out your binoculars, and look, well, now you can clearly see the boat that "disappeared over the horizon". And again, the boat can go further, and be brought back into view with a telescope. So, the boat didn't go over the horizon, it just became to blurry/to indistinct to see anymore. (this also explains why the boat disappears from the waterline up.)
Many of the "proofs" that ball-earthers and flat-earthers use is based on lasers/light. Something we have never proven is that light travels in straight lines. But, most people assume it. Imagine that light travelled parallel to the Earth's surface. Is the Earth then, flat because the laser followed its curve? Or is it some other shape, and we will never know by using a laser on Earth? (Imagine if the Earth is curved, because it is wrapped up in a higher dimension. So, light is travelling straight in 3D, but is curved in 6D (Or whichever number we give to that dimension))
Our assumptions mess things up. We need to avoid that when practicing science.
Those sticks and their shadows do not prove anything. It is the assumption that gives us a conclusion. We really need to not assume that our assumptions are correct.

It is amusing watching the arguments about Ball-Earth vs Flat-Earth, fly all over the internetz. Most of the time they just devolve into one side calling the other side stupid.
And, it is very sad that our only real supplier of data from not-on-the-Earth, NASA (Never a Straight Answer) has been caught manipulating photos, showing us movies filmed in a pool, using green-screens… So, this they are known liars, can we trust anything they tell us? No, we clearly can't. (that is just logic) But do we have others we can rely on? Is there any other source of the data?
And what is worse, is that NASA and all the other space organizations seem to be controlled by the same group of people who donated all those globes into classrooms. (Total conspiracy-theory / Rabbit-hole here and it gets REAL deep.)
If we were actually motivated by real science, we would not allow NASA to lie, we would not allow certain facts to be buried or swept under the rug. We need truth at every level. We don't go around calling previous theories/conclusions stupid. We see science as a progression, and we constantly check old assumptions.
Right now we do the opposite of this. And the Ball-Earth / Flat-Earth debate really shows that.
It is really sad that many scientists are so tied to the outcome, that they are willing to lie, change the data, bury information, let people die…
