This colorful beetle from the Chrysomelidae family is strictly connected with various types of asparagus. The larvae feed on the tiny fruits while the adults prefer the tender shoots of the plant. The shoots that I was picking in between two photographs.

There wasn't enough space for writing the name of the beetle under the previous photograph, so I'll write it here. That was the Crioceris duodecimpunctata. In this photograph, you can see some caterpillar. Can't tell you the name of the species.

The Crematogaster scutellaris ants can be often found on the shoots.

This is the Crioceris asparagi, another leaf beetle that feeds and reproduces on the asparagus. The asparagus species in this post is the Asparagus acutifolius.

This is the Rhopalus subrufus, a bug from the Rhopalidae family.

The photographs in this post were taken with a small, half-broken, compact camera in the spring of 2020. I was picking the fresh, edible shoots of the wild asparagus plants. You can see some insects and an arachnid I photographed on that occasion.
