Hero school student saves the day when school bus driver passes out

On 26 April 2023 a driver at the wheel of a school bus in Warren, Michigan had passed out while transporting local students. Fortunately, one of the students, Dillan Reeves, a seventh grader, had noticed that, got up to the front of the bus and brought it to a stop thus potentially preventing a very serious accident. The driver who had suffered from an unspecified health condition was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

As it turned out, Reeves was the only student on the bus who did not have a smartphone. That was possibly why he actually stayed in reality enough to maintain awareness of the situation enough to notice that something was going wrong and to respond to the situation. He states he knew how the controls worked on the bus because he had watched the driver use them before - likely, too, because he stayed in reality. Other students, meanwhile, were on their phones and failed to even notice a potentially deadly situation they ended up in.

Well, all is well that ends well, as they say. Here's wishing that driver a speedy recovery. And let's not forge that virtual reality is, well, virtual and the real reality still exists and it could care less for what you imagine or feel. And its laws typically overpower those or its virtual counterpart.
