ABSTAINING FROM SMOKING. WHY YOU NEED TO QUIT SMOKING

Smoking is a global health concern that continues to claim millions of lives each year. Despite the well-documented health risks associated with tobacco use, many individuals find it challenging to break free from this addictive habit. And not only that, a lot of us have been so much familiar with smoking that we tend not to see the harmful side of it as something that should make us abstain from it.That is really quite terrible though.

Our society has changes the perspective of what people have towards smoking and which is really terrible, so terrible. The truth of the matter is so much have been said towards the harmful effects. Yes we are all familiar it is capable of damaging your liver, kidney and so on. I think one of the things that actually affect people not taking it for granted is the fact that people come up with the theory that smoking might really beneficial for your health. That sound absurd right? There is so much good you can do for yourself by abstaining from Smoking. Yes I understand you are addicted to it and might be really difficult for you to stop but with discipline you can do it. Today I will be talking about what you really stand to gain by abstaining from Smoking.

1. Protecting Physical Health:

I will start from this first point. The more you smoke, the more you endanger your health, the faster you stop smoking, the safer and secured your health is. Abstaining from smoking significantly reduces the risk of developing various life-threatening health conditions. I might not really want to talk about all of the conditions as we are all familiar with some of them. Smoking is a leading cause of lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease, stroke, and numerous other respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses. By quitting smoking, individuals can safeguard their physical health and potentially add years to their life expectancy.

Smoking weakens the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to infections and illnesses. Abstaining from smoking strengthens the body's natural defenses, leading to better overall health and reduced vulnerability to diseases. Many of us might not actually know this but smoking has detrimental effects on the respiratory system, leading to chronic coughing, shortness of breath, and decreased lung capacity. When someone quits smoking, their lung function gradually improves, allowing them to breathe more easily and engage in physical activities with greater comfort.

2. Enhancing Cardiovascular Health:

Smoking damages blood vessels and increases the risk of atherosclerosis, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes. By abstaining from smoking, individuals can significantly improve their cardiovascular health, reducing the risk of heart-related complications. Many of us might have noticed that a lot of people youthful appearance get affected due to smoking. Yea smoking accelerates the aging process, causing premature wrinkles, sagging skin, and a dull complexion. Choosing not to smoke helps maintain a more youthful appearance and healthier skin.

And not only that, smoking is often associated with stress relief, but in reality, it can exacerbate feelings of anxiety and depression. When individuals abstain from smoking, they experience improved mental clarity, reduced stress, and enhanced overall well-being.

3. Saving Money:

This point might not really be significant to some people because their financial state is more healthy than an average individual but I will also like to tell you that smoking is an expensive habit, with the cost of cigarettes adding up significantly over time. By choosing not to smoke, individuals can save substantial amounts of money that can be redirected toward more fulfilling and worthwhile endeavors.

Let me digress a little bit but smoking doesn't just affect the smoker; it also harms those exposed to secondhand smoke. By abstaining from smoking, individuals protect their loved ones from the harmful effects of passive smoking, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for everyone.

4. Empowering Self-control:

Quitting smoking is a testament to one's strength and self-control. Overcoming the addiction to nicotine requires determination and resilience, building a sense of personal empowerment and achievement.
