In the previous post, we set a new record: we were the first people to visit 11 castles in 24 hours in Portugal. We also broke the record for being the first Spanish speaker to make a video (speedrun) visiting the most castles in a single day worldwide on YouTube. The last time you heard from me, I was at 70 castles. TODAY we've reached 83, which is very close to 100! Today, you'll have the task of selecting your favorite.🚩🏰

Así también rompimos el récord de ser el primer hispanohablante en hacer un vídeo (speedrun) visitando más castillos en un día a nivel mundial en YouTube. It is one of the few castles I have visited that has a very strange shape because it has five sides, when the average is four. In my experience with castles, this is the most interesting legend of all. Sertã comes from "frying pan," which is the cooking utensil. In the Roman era, an invasion reached the gates of the fortification, and a woman named Celinda helped defend the castle by throwing boiling oil from a frying pan out of the window. This made the troops retreat, allowing reinforcements to arrive and preventing the city from falling into the hands of the enemy troops. Crazy, right?🚩📍
En mi experiencia con castillos, esta es la leyenda más interesante de todas. Sertã viene de «sartén», que es el utensilio de cocina. En la era romana, una invasión llegó a las puertas de la fortificación, y una mujer llamada Celinda ayudó a su marido a defender el castillo lanzando aceite hirviendo con una sartén desde la ventana. Montemor-o-velho Castle🌏🧭 /Castillo Montemor-o-velho📍🌏
This castle is also located in Coimbra and forms part of the defensive line of the Mondego River. As the primary stronghold among them, it is the largest and most complex. The Romans were the first to occupy the area and build a fortification, followed by the Arabs in the 8th century.🏰🚩
Este castillo también se encuentra en Coimbra y forma parte de la línea defensiva del río Mondego. Es la fortaleza principal, por lo que resulta la más grande y compleja. The castle is linked to the history of the Christian Reconquest and the defining of the future borders of Portugal as a nation during the 12th and 13th centuries. Although I found it surprisingly low at a mere 42 meters, the panoramic views over the rice fields are incredible.🌍🏞️

This castle is among the top five strangest I've visited so far because only one imposing corner remains; the rest has vanished. Located in the town of Buarcos, Coimbra, it's older than you might think, dating back to 1096. At that time, piracy was quite common along the Atlantic and the Mondego River, so this castle served to deter pirate and Arab incursions. When the Reconquista began in the 12th century, Afonso Henriques donated the castle to the Monastery of Santa Cruz de Coimbra, which would administer it and protect the city🌍📍

Los castillos son muy lindos
Son tantos los castillos que has visitado que solo sé que es una aventura fantástica y un gran logro. Te felicito 👏 Elegir solo un castillo no podría porque todos me parecen interesantes. Sin embargo, resaltaré el Castillo de Redondos por su antigüedad, ser del año 1096 para mí es emocionante, ya ver este tipo de construcciones es un honor por todo lo que han soportado en tanto tiempo.

Hala, mi estimado amogo..83 castillos!! no se si conoces qyue hay una comunidad que es Hive collectors en los que podrías presetar esta enorme colección. De la publicación de hoy, también me llamó la atención la historia de Celinda: entre tantas batallas y caballeros, que una mujer defendiera el castillo a golpe de sartén le da un toque especial a la historia.
