Quiero recalcar algo: primero, la chica que nos atendió fue grosera conmigo; segundo, nueve euros es caro para la experiencia de un recorrido de 10 a 15 minutos. Me parece que se aprovechan de los turistas y de la cercanía del sendero de los Misterios Negros. Si tienes pensado ir esta semana, la mala noticia es que la cueva estará cerrada por mantenimiento. Además, no se permite la entrada con bebés ni niños menores de 5 o 6 años, ya que es muy peligroso. 🏞️🚙

Le doy un punto positivo al equipo de trabajo de la Gruta del Natal porque te entregan cascos para hacer el recorrido. Y quién diría... Los que vieron mi video en YouTube entendieron que me di un buen golpe, jajaja, y gracias al casco no pasó nada malo. Pero la roca de basalto es filosa y peligrosa a pesar de no ser muy resbaladiza. Los túneles están bien iluminados, lo que evita que nos perdamos, además de que la ruta está bien señalizada.🚩🏞️

La Gruta del Natal resulta ser la formación geológica de un tubo volcánico en el interior de la isla. Cuenta con 697 metros de longitud. Uno de los datos más curiosos de esta impresionante formación es que todos los conductos fueron vías de escape de la lava hace 12 000 años; ¡no es tan antigua como pensabas! Tengo entendido que no es posible que la lava vuelva a salir por los mismos túneles, pero la isla sí está activa y podría hacer erupción por otros mecanismos.🙇🏻♀️📍
The Natal Cave turns out to be a volcanic tube geological formation inside the island, with a total length of 697 meters. Sí, el nombre de "Natal" le hace una excelente referencia a la cueva, ¡porque aquí dentro de este túnel volcánico se celebró la primera misa de Navidad de la comunidad! Una locura, ¿no? Y no solo Navidad, también se celebraron bodas y bautizos. Actualmente, según el personal que gestiona la cueva, estas celebraciones solo se hacen con permisos exclusivos. La misa tradicional parece haberse perdido debido a la explotación turística del recinto, ¡pero la historia perdurará por siempre!📸🙇🏻♀️
The name Natal is a perfect fit for the cave, as the community's first Christmas Mass was celebrated inside this volcanic tunnel! Crazy, right? And not just Christmas; weddings and baptisms were also celebrated here. According to the cave staff, these celebrations are now only held with exclusive permits. The tradition of holding Mass seems to have been lost since the site was turned into a tourist attraction, but the history will live on forever!🌏🚙

This is one of the most impressive caves I've ever visited, and believe me, I've seen many! That's why it's rated as one of the best tourist attractions in Portugal. For 10 euros, you can enter a dormant volcanic chimney. Compared to the other cave, this one is only between 2,100 and 3,200 years old—quite young. Make sure to check the operating hours, as it is usually only open in the afternoon.🌋📍

At the bottom of the volcanic chimney, we can see a crystal-clear lake filled with rainwater. In the winter season, it can reach a depth of 20 meters, and in the summer it could disappear completely! It's a privilege for me to see this lagoon.🚩🙇🏻♀️
