Hello traveling friends! I appear here again to leave you a small post, today I visited the beautiful and great city of Queluz which currently also belongs to the municipality of Lisbon. In my previous post we visited one of the most beautiful palaces within the city, now I prepared a post just for Visit the places of interest in Queluz, and even take a trail where we will pass through the famous aquaduct called: "free waters", get comfortable and enjoy the experience!🏰🚩⛲
Upon arriving at the center of Queluz we came across 2 amazing buildings, the first is the palace which we already explained and visited in detail and then this inn that is shaped like architecture and a Catholic church! With its four stars and paying 90 euros per night, the inn has that historical touch that allows you to travel back in time to the reign of D. Manuel almost hand in hand with the Queluz palace, the clock had to be rebuilt due to the earthquake of 1755 which damaged a large part of the structure!🌏🚩🏰
You can't miss taking some photos in the Felicio Loreiro park which has something interesting! It is bordered by a small river in which a unique fish in the world is found. It is a small species called: (Iberochostroma lusitania) which only lives in the Jamor River. We are trying to rehabilitate its habitat since the species is sensitive. and its population is disappearing over time to the point of almost being in danger!🏯⛲🌍
My favorite part is the bridge over the Jamor River, if you're lucky you'll see some animals! The park is complete and you can walk with your family and it is even allowed to walk with pets! you can practice some sport! The best time to visit Queluz for me is spring since summer is quite hot!
👀🧭🌏
Free water aqueduct🧭🌍/Acuaducto aguas livres🚩
The aqueduct is, along with the palace, the second most visited place in Queluz. It is a construction from the 19th century and was built in the reign of John V. Clearly, since the 17th century, the aqueduct carried water throughout Lisbon, because a single city had clean water! It has a maximum height of 65 meters and a length of 56 km including its secondary channels! Its construction was thanks to taxes on oil, wine and meat!🌍🧭🚙
The combination between modern and old apartments is very strange, there are quite a few social neighborhoods in this area so I do not recommend doing this walk at night because you will pass some very isolated alleys! Portugal is normally safe but it is a hike to do in daylight! On the way you will find several old houses from the 18th century, some abandoned! and everything is following the river!👨💻🌷👨🏫
The historical and natural side🧭🌍/El lado historico y natural🚩
As Queluz is a parish of Sintra, we will find several protected natural hectares that allow us to enjoy the Mediterranean landscape without being hindered by the large apartments! And Queluz has everything you need to enjoy the historical, wild and natural side of Portugal! Plus it's a cheap area! The hotels here don't reach 100 euros!
👀🧭🌏
Quinta do Senhor da Serra🧭🌍/Quinta do Senhor da Serra🚩
A quick stop at the Quinta del Señor de la Sierra! Here we are going to see this spectacular architecture that seems taken from the very era of discoveries, it is a private villa built in the 14th century which suggests that it is older than we would expect! With a Gothic touch, the villa was used on some occasions by the royal families of Portugal! I didn't have access to it so either we can't get through or we have to schedule a visit online!⛲🤯
Here I visited the Nossa Senhora da Misericórdia church which has a Manuelina architectural style dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, apparently it is active and from what I see it is the only one in the village! We are already starting to move away from the center and we are heading towards the trail!🌄🚙
This villa was inaugurated in 2015 and is a combination of various architectures, being built in 1860. The attraction is its gardens! And from what I was researching there is a bar and you can make a reservation to stop by and walk in its gardens whose fountain gives a magical touch to the private villa!🌷🌄⛲

Path to the aqueduct🧭🌍/Sendero hacia el acueducto🚩
Another of the tourist attractions of Queluz is this circular path that surrounds the previous aqueduct that we saw! Let's say that it was literally born here! I don't know if you are a lover of natural walks but I recommend taking the trail. It takes less than an hour and the atmosphere is spectacular, there are no tourists and you can see the landscape literally virgin!🌄🌍🌻
This is a small corner where we see some dinosaur sculptures! And it's not just something to make you smile, Sintra has some places where you can see dinosaur footprints! Actually, in a previous post I showed you a similar place in the south of Setubal!🙎♂️🤯
