Twenty-seven centuries of history🙇‍♂️🧭/ Veintisiete siglos de historia🍍🧠

It was the first time I visited a museum on cryptological themes that is located underground, it was a fantastic experience since between these walls you take a journey through the history of more than 27 centuries, going through the first settlers of Portugal, the Moors, passing through the Romans until observing different medieval accessories such as (arches, decorations, ritual accessories among others), this museum was inaugurated in 2008, King Alfonso II once stayed here, in the nineties is when they discovered the archaeological remains of several civilizations that They lived in Alcacer for centuries, among the first objects found were some Roman modenas and jugs, "What do you think of the photo where I load a catapult projectile"? amazing, right? I would say that they weighed about 5kg and were capable of detaching a limb from the trunk of a human being.🙇‍♂️👨‍💻💂‍♂️💂‍♀️

12th-17th century💎💍🧠

The area covered by the occupation of the Arabs is very extensive, approximately 2 km squared or at least that is what the evidence of the structures shows, however, objects were collected that appear nothing more and nothing less than the Iron Age or in the 7th century BC, the underground museum is below the fortress occupied by Henrique II, however there are some walls that date from the medieval era to be more specific in the Christian reconquest, in addition they were built on the Romanesque walls, taking advantage of the Portuguese former previous occupation.👀

Let's learn about Arabic and Roman culture🙇‍♂️🧭/ Aprendamos sobre cultura arabica y romanica🍍🧠

The Arabs were known for conquering many territories in Europe, and they arrived in Alcacer in the 8th century. This occurred at the same time when the Romanesque Spanish expansion occurred. The tribe that settled in the city was the "Berbers of Banu Adanis." This was projected towards the 9th century where their military advance allowed them to conquer much Portuguese territory, the Muslims were masters of Portugal from Odemira along the entire Atlantic coast to the north of Lisbon for several years, and even until the year 1217.🧭🍍🧭

King Alfonso II was one of the main military figures of Portugal and thanks to him they managed to recover all the territory that at that time belonged to the Moors. Alfonso II belonged to the religious order of the crusaders, after the conquest of Alcacer whose name derived from the Arabic language was: "Al-Qars" if you did not know all the names of the cities in Portugal have Arabic origin. Lisbon? Usbuna...🕵️‍♀️🌏🍍
Lisboa? Usbuna...🧭🍍💂‍♀️

The Roman Empire🙇‍♂️🧭/ El imperio Romano🍍🧠

Here we see a selection of objects that date from the Iron Age to the Romans, we are referring to more than 2500 years of separation of history, what I liked about the museum is that we see several civilizations with different beliefs and different ways of living, the Romans They were very advanced and we see it in the structures of their architecture, there is an area within the museum that was occupied by the Romans and where the complex sewage system can be seen. Let us remember that the Romans were pioneers in a fairly advanced hygiene system for the time, that is why we do not see plagues and diseases due to lack of sanitation in Roman cities.🍍🧭🌏

The thief in sacrifice💀🧠

The story states that a rich Roman gentleman had his belongings stolen and here this was a place of sacrifice where writings were found that say: "Lady Magara, you who received the body of Attis, deign to find the thief who took my suitcases." And if so, I offer it to you as a sacrifice here on this altar, for now I give a quadruped and the soul of that thief captured in the night."👀

Five star museum🙇‍♂️🧭/ Museo cinco estrellas🍍🧠

What an incredible piece of experience! The museum is top and the weekends are free so in addition to being able to learn many new things you don't pay anything! Here you can see the site inhabited by the Romans, an area of 10 square meters where you can see a huge well that was used to store cereals in times of famine or winter and even against pests!😍
