I think that traveling 100 km on purpose to visit some Roman ruins is something that few people would do and without a doubt it describes a lot of my passions! Today was a special day for me because for a while I wanted to visit the: "Aquis Originis Mansion" in Galicia Spain, the question is why? What is so special about this historical site that made you visit Spain to photograph it? I have already visited more than 20 places like this in my life and for the conservation and history of this makes it very special, it was built in a strategic place of trade between Portugal and Spain in the area of Braga known as: (route XVIII itinerary of Antonino ), let's learn more!🌏🚩🧠

Creo que viajar a proposito 100km para visitar unas ruinas Romanas es algo que pocas personas harian y sin duda describe mucho de mis pasiones! hoy fue un dia especial para mi porque hacia un tiempo que queria visitar la: "Mansion Aquis Originis" en Galicia Espana, la pregunta es por que? que tiene de especial este sitio historico que hizo que visitara Espana para fotografiarlo? ya visite mas de 20 lugares como esto en mi vida y para la conservacion e historia de este lo hace muy especial, fue construido en un sitio estrategico de comercio entre Portugal y Espana por la zona de Braga conocida como: (ruta XVIII itinerario de Antonino), aprendamos mas!🕵️♂️🏰🫅🤴

I believe that the place is one of the most visited in Lobios, many people are interested in knowing how the Romans lived hundreds of years ago, (A-18) is a well-known and famous land route that was very advanced at the time of the Romans that used to connect both Portugal and Spain, it had a length of 210 Roman miles which are translated today as: (330km) crazy right? Imagine how many Roman carriages passed through here between the 1st and 3rd centuries, of course you couldn't ride a horse for 330km without stopping, and that was one of the functions of: (Aquis Originis) being a place to stop and rest for the different Travellers!🧠🌏🕵️♂️
Creo que el lugar es uno de los mas visitados de Lobios, muchas personas tienen interes de conocer como vivian los Romanos hace cientos de anos, (A-18) es una conocida y famosa ruta terrestre muy avanzada en la epoca de los Romanos que utilizaron para conectar tanto Portugal como Espana, tenia una longitud de 210 millas Romanas que se traducen hoy en dia como: (330km) una locura no? imagina cuantas carrozas romanas pasaron por aqui entre los siglos I-III, por supuesto no se podia andar en caballo por 330km sin parar, y esa era una de las funciones de: (Aquis Originis) ser un sitio de parada y descanso para los diferentes viajeros!🚩🤴🫅
It is probably the first time you read about (Antonine's itinerary) it is a Roman document dating from the 3rd century and in it all the routes of the powerful Roman empire are shown! It was a widely used document from commercial purposes to drawing up war plans, although in these areas there were very few! I mean Portugal in Spain if there was more activity including the famous Punicas! the Romans baptized what is Braga today as: (Bracara augusta), and through this route Braga was connected with (Astorga) which is located in Spain! According to historical records, the A-18 began to be built between 79 and 80 when Vespasian was the Roman Emperor, the main function of the route was commercial! and for example in Portugal there was a lot of fish trade.🕵️♂️🌏
Probablemente es primera vez que lees sobre (itinerario de antonino) se trata de un documento Romano que data del siglo III y que en el se muestran todas las rutas del poderoso imperio Romano! era un documento muy utilizado desde fines comerciales hasta para trazer planes de guerra aunque en estas zonas fueron muy pocas! me refiero a Portugal en espana si hubo mas actividad entre ellas las famosas punicas! los Romanos bautizaron lo que es Braga el dia de hoy como: (Bracara augusta), y mediante esta ruta se conectaba Braga con (Astorga) que se ubica en Espana! segun los registros historicos la A-18 comenzo a ser construida entre el 79 y 80 cuando era Vespasiano el emperador Romano la principal funcion de la ruta era comercial! y por ejemplo en Portugal habian mucho comercio de peces.🧠🏰

Imagina ser un romano en el siglo II circulando por aqui un par de dias, lo primero que querras seria un lugar donde hacer una parada para poder tomar una ducha cierto? el problema es que apesar de ser Portugal y Espana dominio romano en esa epoca igual habian muchos peligros en las rutas era comun asaltar las carrozas por ladrones, de echo apesar de ser los romanos una civilizacion muy temida tuvieron muchos enemigos! una de las ventajas de estas mansiones era la seguridad de poder llegar a un sitio Romano y poder comer, descansar y hasta tomarte un bano con aguas termales, en esa altura era comun los romanos que pertenecian a una clase alta ducharse en dos clases de agua fria y caliente, ademas Aquis Originis tenia establos como muchas otras mansiones para poder dar alimento a los animales y descansar un poco!🤴🚩
We could define one: (mansio) was the translation of Roman official stop, its livelihood was from the central government and as its name indicates it is a stopping place for Roman officials and merchants in total along the A-18 route there were eleven mansions🌍

I think we could summarize a Mansio as a modern hostel, this historical beauty is located in the park: "Baja Limia" in Spain, it is believed to have been a small space but in 2008 several interesting discoveries were made, some jugs and some tiles made it which led to the conclusion that the site could be bigger than thought! Scientists believe that before the 5th century the ruins had completely disappeared and the Romans reconstructed those that had been built in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.🌏🧠
creo que podriamos resumir una Mansio como un hostal moderno, esta belleza historica esta ubicada en el parque: "Baja Limia" en espana, se cree que fue un espacio pequeno pero en el ano 2008 se hicieron varios descubrimientos interesantes algunas jarras y unas tejas lo que llevo a la conclusion que el sitio podria ser mas grande de lo que se pensaba! los cientificos creen que antes del siglo V las ruinas habian desaparecido por completo y los Romanos hicieron una reconstruccion de aquellas que habian sido construidas en el siglo II,III🫅
This stone was a fantastic discovery because it is a way of expressing reverence to (ogeresibus) a deity from Lusitanian mythology, they are pre-Romanesque and their deities exerted a great influence on Iberian religion since both were mixed! of course for this mixture to happen the romans conquered the lands fighting with them🏰🌏
Esta piedra fue un descubrimiento fantastico porque se trata de una forma de expresar reverencia a (ogeresibus) una deidad de la mitologia lusitana, son pre-romanicas y sus deidades ejercieron una influencia grande en la religion iberica ya que ambas se mezclaron! por supuesto para que esta mezcla sucediera los romanos conquistaron las tierras luchando con ellos🧠
It is estimated that the space used for the mansio was about 500 square meters, with beautiful mosaic decorations and full of beautiful columns, the pools were private and only used by wealthy people! The discovery of Aquis Originis was made by the inhabitants of the area in 1988, later in the nineties some excavations were made, finding very interesting Roman artifacts and relics such as coins, currently it belongs to the municipal chamber of Lobios.🏰🌏
se estima que el espacio usado para la mansio era de unos 500 metros cuadrados, con hermosas decoraciones en mosaicos y lleno de lindas columnas, las piscinas eran privadas y solo usadas por gente adinerada! el descubrimiento de Aquis Originis fue por los pobladores de la zona en el ano 1988, posteriormente en los anos noventas se hicieron algunas excavaciones encontrando artefactos y reliquias romanas muy interesantes como monedas, actualmente le pertenece a la camara municipal de Lobios.🚩
