We keep adding more and more castles to my personal log! I'm very proud, and I say this to the whole platform: I am THE FIRST PERSON TO VISIT ALMOST ALL THE CASTLES IN PORTUGAL, and I've already broken some records, becoming the first person from Zulia to visit the most castles in Europe. I feel very motivated because my name will be remembered within my family for these achievements, and even though we don't know if HIVE will last forever within the ecosystem, the fact that my visits are here for everyone to see is something that contributes a lot to the platform.🏔️🚙

Today we visited the coast of the city of Sines, and I'll give you a great fact! The castle is a mix with a fortress, but it was actually classified within Romanesque architecture as a feudal dwelling. Although a king never lived there, it was inhabited by an alcaide—a high political chief of the city. In reality, it is a hybrid between a castle and a fortress because it kept evolving over time.🏔️🌏

Sines, la ciudad costera, es bastante popular por su playa "Vasco da Gama", que es muy extensa, de arenas limpias y blancas, con un clima agradable y poco oleaje; yo la comparo con las de la Arrábida. En mi visita rápida, creo que podrías pasar unas vacaciones cortas aquí y no es cara; solo tienes que estar habituado al calor abrasador del Alentejo en verano, que ronda los 41 grados. xD🌏🙇🏻♀️
Sines, the coastal town, is quite popular for its beach: "Vasco da Gama," which is quite long with clean, white sand, a pleasant climate, and calm waters. I compare it to the beaches of Arrábida. In my quick visit, I think you could spend a short vacation here, and it's not expensive. You just have to be used to the scorching Alentejo heat in summer, which reaches around 41 degrees Celsius📍⛵🚤

Believe it or not, Sines has the largest and most powerful port in Portugal, that's right... larger than Lisbon and Porto. But it's not only characterized by its maritime contribution; it also has a medieval historic center that still maintains many facades, houses, and of course, the walls. And here's a fun fact: it's in this city that the great navigator Vasco da Gama was born, the equivalent of Christopher Columbus, only he went to the Indies. However, historical records show that the main function of these cannons was actually to annihilate the pirates who came to Sines to plunder or pursue other Portuguese vessels.📍🙇🏻♀️🚙
Lo que más impresiona es la forma en cómo se distribuían los cañones en el castillo, todos apuntando hacia las costas, y es que una eventual invasión era más probable por el Atlántico que por tierra. Aunque Portugal demostró siglos después que su línea defensiva de Torres Vedras y su estrategia luso-inglesa eran imbatibles por tierra, el océano siempre fue su debilidad. In the vicinity of the castle, there is a museum dedicated to the great navigator. According to historical records, Vasco da Gama's father was the alcaide (mayor) of the castle. It was built in the 15th century by royal order to protect the coast. When it was constructed, the city already surrounded it, which is why the castle grounds span less than two hectares. You could say it is one of the smallest castles I've visited, but its stunning views easily surpass the others🗺️🙇🏻♀️
En las adyacencias del castillo hay un museo dedicado al gran navegante. Según los registros, el padre de Vasco da Gama fue alcaide del castillo, el cual fue construido en el siglo XV con la orden de proteger las costas. Cuando se construyó, la ciudad ya existía, por eso el recinto cuenta con menos de dos hectáreas. Podría decirse que es uno de los más pequeños que he visitado, pero supera a otros con sus vistas🏰💂🏻♂️💂🏻♀️

Me ha encantado esta publicación ahora soy un poco menos ignorante que ayer, no me imaginaba que hubiera un puerto más importante en la historia de Portugal que los de Oporto o Lisboa. Me ha encantado la visita a este castillo-fortaleza, sin duda un lugar para visitar y estar unos días (mejor en otoño o primavera)-
