Natural crossing 20km๐ŸŒ๐Ÿšฉ / Travesia natural 20km๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ(En-Es)

Hello adventurous friends, today I woke up with a great desire to do a trail, I will show you the wild side of the "Mata do Machado" natural reserve, to get here was quite an odyssey and from my house to the reserve it is a 10km walk between the suburbs passing through very rural areas, I love hiking and visiting hidden areas of Portugal and of course it serves as suggestions if you want to visit my small and beautiful country one day! We are going to photograph and learn a little about the place, the plant species that are found.๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿ„

A challenge of more than 20km๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿšฉ/ Un reto de mas de 20km๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒ„

Of all the options you have to get to the natural park, taking the 20km path is the best option because we see different types of landscapes, we will even visit some of the oldest villas of Quinta de Conde, which is a city 30km from Lisbon and is in amidst nature until you reach the bay of Seixal, which is where I live! It is undoubtedly an intense walk but it is worth it for the beautiful landscapes and Mediterranean forests where eucalyptus trees, cedar pines, among others, abound.๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Why visit the Machada nature reserve๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿšฉ/Porque visitar la reserva natural Machada๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒ„

Species found in the reserve๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒ„

When we visit the park we have an educational experience because we find many letters that explain the local fauna and flora, some of the species are unique to Portugal, therefore protecting these spaces is very important to preserve the country's biodiversity, I find it very interesting to come with our children to relax and give them some classes about ecology and how to keep our planet "healthy", I love these spaces! If you don't want to walk and exercise you can bring food and have a picnic.๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒ

First two kilometers of walk๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿšฉ/Primeros dos kilometros de caminata๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒ„

The first two kilometers inside the park are very beautiful because you pass between very wild paths and you are always surrounded by plants of all sizes and colors, it is late autumn so it is a good height to be able to see the changes in the leaves, As you can see, if you are interested in nature like me, you can photograph several species of poisonous wild mushrooms, which grow in the park due to the environmental conditions, it is very humid, there are many birds but you have to have a very good lens to photograph them and come during the week when there is no shouting.๐ŸŒท๐Ÿ„๐Ÿšตโ€โ™‚๏ธ
๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿš™

Speaking a little about the "da Machada" nature reserve, it is a protected area that is under the administration of the Natural Conservation Institute of Portugal, it has more than 400 hectares of land intended for activities of all kinds including exercises, observation of species, it has an instruction area for boy scouts, an area for excavations and geology studies and other classes!๐Ÿšตโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒ„

That sign that you see in the photo is the one that tells us where we should turn or continue to complete the trail within the reserve that, despite not being very well signposted, requires us to complete about 4km of walking between very precarious paths and even passing through small ones. streams that I will show you later, some water sources that are more than 70 years old and that were restored.๐Ÿ๐Ÿš™๐Ÿšตโ€โ™‚๏ธ
๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿš™

Hello nature๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ

This is the trunk of the famous tree from which wine corks are extracted, it is called Quercus suber and it is rare to find some in Portugal with intact trunks as they are widely used commercially, and this way we understand how protected and preserved the reserve that maintains is. All trees intact! In Portugal there is a very interesting museum that talks about corks and that I recommend you visit. It is quite a profession to cut the bark without damaging the tree.๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒ

๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ

In the deepest part of the forest๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿšฉ/En lo mas profundo del bosque๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒ„

The path takes us through several narrow paths where we can see around us enormous trees, many of them pine, bushes of all kinds, we can even see on the ground, if you are lucky, some edible berries, in winter it is beautiful but quite complicated due to the rain and the road becomes very muddy, here I took the opportunity to eat, fill up with energy and continue.๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒ
๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒพ

Nice landscapes๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿšฉ/Bonito paisajes๐Ÿงญ๐ŸŒ„

And here concludes my great and beautiful tour through the beautiful Mediterranean forest of "reserva da mata" which without a doubt I would return in the future but with my family, it is one of those hidden places that no one visits but that is worth it because we learn a lot about it. environment as well as the country itself.๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒ

๐Ÿ๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿš™
