"Monte de Caparica" Trail🗺️🌍 / Sendero "Monte de Caparica"👨🏻🏫📸🚩 (En-Es)
Hello adventurous friends, another new route is coming and for today we are going to complete the "Monte de Caparica" trail located in the parish of Costa de Caparica in the municipality of Almada, this trail has a length of 12km and a duration of approximately 4 hours, we are going to enjoy beautiful landscapes, some dunes, and we will even be able to walk through the streets of the city turning our route into something natural-rural, one of the few trails of this category on the southern edge of Setubal.🌍🗺️

Hola amigos aventureros, se viene otra nueva ruta y para hoy vamos a completar el sendero "Monte de Caparica" ubicada en la parroquia Costa de Caparica en el municipio de Almada, este sendero tiene una extension de 12km y una duracion aproximada de 4 horas, vamos a disfrutar de hermosos paisajes, algunas dunas, e inclusive vamos a poder pasear entre las calles de la ciudad convirtiendo nuestra ruta en algo natural-rural uno de los pocos senderos de esta categoria en el margen sur de Setubal.🧭🌄

Well friends, the trail begins at the intersection of "Fte telha" we have already shared this start on other occasions because in this part of the coast there are more than 5 types of trails that go north or vice versa, that is why we started in the village: "Verdizela" as you can see, since it is a long walk, it is best to start very early and today at 5:30 am I was on the route, also I was avoiding the midday summer sun that reaches about 35-40 degrees...🏔️🌄🧭
Bueno amigos el sendero comienza en la intersección de "Fte telha" este inicio ya lo compartimos en otras ocasiones porque en esta parte de la costa pasan mas de 5 tipos de senderos que van hacia el norte o viceversa, por ello comenzamos en la aldea: "Verdizela" como puedes ver al ser muchas horas de caminata lo mejor es arrancar bien temprano y hoy ya a las 5.30 am estaba en ruta, ademas estaba evitando el sol del medio dia de verano que llega a unos 35-40 grados...🚩⛰️🚙
The Caparica dunes are characterized by the presence of a single large tree, the "Pinus pinea," or the so-called tame pine. I believe there is nothing taller growing in this arid land. I noticed the presence of many reptiles in the early morning hours, sunbathing to warm themselves. It is clearly a "desert," but one full of life.🚩🧭🌄
Las dunas de caparica son caracterizadas por la presencia de un unico arbol de gran porte y es "Pinus pinea" o el llamado pino manso, creo que no hay otra cosa mas alta creciendo en esta arida tierra, note la presencia de muchos reptiles en las primeras horas de la manana tomando sol para calentarse, claramente es un "desierto" pero lleno de vida.⛰️🏔️

The trail is suitable for all ages and we can do it as a family as long as you do it early, around 2:00 p.m. the sun is dangerous for small children. I recommend that if you are a tourist and just want to walk around and get to know Caparica, you can walk about 5 km and take the bus back when you leave the dunes. I have already seen people do this route on mountain bikes.🚙🚩
El sendero es apto para todas las edades y podemos hacerlo en familia siempre y cuando lo hagas temprano, sobre las 14:00 el sol es peligroso para ninos pequenos, yo te recomiendo que si eres un turista y solo quieres pasear y conocer Caparica puedes hacer unos 5 km y tomar el autobus de regreso al salir de las dunas, ya vi personas hacer este recorrido en bicicleta de montana.⛺🍂
Normally, mosses appear in cold, humid microclimates, but in summer, many of them practically disappear from the ground. I am surprised that in some dunes we find a small forest where we still see mosses on the ground. This indicates that it may be very warm during the day but the nights can be quite cold and humid.🌍📍
Normalmente los musgos aparecen en microclimas frios y con abundante humedad pero en verano practicamente muchos de ellos desaparecen del terreno y me sorprende que en unas dunas consigamos un pequeno bosque donde veamos aun musgos en el suelo esto es indicativo que puede ser muy calido de dia pero las noches bastante frias y humedas.🗺️🚩
This is the most difficult part of the trail because there is no path and we have to walk directly on the sand of the dunes, which is quite annoying, hehe. But we can also interpret that as a challenge, making our walk more difficult and the trail more demanding.⛺🚩
Esta es la parte mas dificil del sendero porque no hay camino y tenemos que ir directamente sobre la arena de las dunas que es bastante molesta jeje, pero bueno eso lo podemos tambien interpretar como un reto dificultando mas nuestro andar y haciendo del sendero algo mas exigente.🌍🗺️
At 280 meters high we can see a beautiful landscape of Lisbon and even the Tejo River. Those mountains in the background are Sintra. We once hiked trails there; you can find them on my blog. Now we'll pass by several viewpoints and return to the sand, but first we'll photograph some wooden bridges.⛺👨🏻🏫
A 280 metros de altura podemos ver un hermoso paisaje de Lisboa e inclusive el rio tejo, esas montanas de fondo son Sintra, alguna vez ya hicimos senderos alli puedes buscarlo en mi blog, ahora pasaremos por varios miradores y de nuevo a la arena, pero primero fotografiamos unos puentes de madera.🍂🚩

Without a doubt, the time when we'll see the beach empty in summer is usually packed with tourists, and worse on weekends, but these views are unique and we only have them on this trail.🌄
Sin duda la hora donde la playa en verano la veremos vacia, normalmente esto esta repleto de turistas y peor los fin de semanas pero estas vistas son unicas y solo las tenemos con este sendero.🌅

Monte de Caparica is actually a small, unattractive town, but it has a small center where its main church is located, which is, for me, one of the most beautiful I've visited; it must be among my top 10.⛰️🚙
En realidad Monte de Caparica es una ciudad pequena nada atractiva pero tiene un pequeno centro donde esta su iglesia principal que es para mi una de las mas bonitas que visite, debe estar entre mi top 10.🧭🍂

The word "Monte" in Portuguese refers to mountain or a high place, and it is where it is believed that a chapel was built in the 13th century to pay homage to the Virgin Mary, later as the town grew this beautiful church was built in 1472 post medieval era, it has a neoclassical touch due to the tiles that were added when it was rebuilt and in 1755 the Lisbon earthquake destroyed it and from the 18th century a new one was built.🧭🚙
La palabra "Monte" en Portugues hace referencia a montana o un sitio alto, y es donde se cree que se construyo una capilla en el siglo XIII para dar homenaje a la virgen maria, posteriomente al crecer la villa se construiria esta hermosa iglesia en 1472 post a la era medieval, tiene un toque neoclasico por los azulejos que se agregaron cuando se reconstruyo y es que en 1755 el terremoto de Lisboa la destruyo y a partir del XVIII se construyo una nueva.🏛️🏛️
