Como amante y buen regionalista de Maracaibo ciudad poco conocida a nivel Mundial, hoy traigo un post para realizar la belleza que tiene Venezuela vs la belleza que tiene Portugal, y muchos diran, estas loco? como vas a comparar un pais tercermundista con uno primermundista?, creeme que te vas a sorprender con el post!!! pero ahora... Que fue lo que me llevo a realizar esa comparacion?, lee el post...🚍⛪
How did my idea to compare them come about?📍🌏 / Como nacio mi idea de compararlas?🚩📸
Before continuing with the post, I want to make it clear that this is a purely personal comparison. This means that you might not see a resemblance at all! The similarity varies depending on each person's perspective, however... The stories are strangely similar... I've visited dozens of churches, chapels, and sanctuaries in Portugal, but when I arrived at this one, I couldn't stop thinking about the Basilica of Maracaibo.🌏📍
Antes de avanzar con el post! quiero dejar claro que es una comparacion de caracter unicamente personal, esto quiere decir que puede que para ti no exista un parecido! el parecido varia dependiendo de la perspectiva de cada persona, sin embargo... Las historias son extranamente similares... No se, ya visite descenas de iglesias, capillas santuarios en Portugal pero cuando llegue a esta no me salia de mi pensamiento la Basilica de Maracaibo.📸🛣️

I had already used the images of the Basilica of Maracaibo for this post that I recommend; I did it two years ago when I visited the city. To locate the Basilica, we would have to go to the historic center of the city of Maracaibo, what they call "the center of Maracaibo"; you can get there by public transport or using the "metro terrestrial" (subway).🚩📍

I want to clarify that a Sanctuary and a Basilica are not the same thing. A sanctuary is related to pilgrimage, while a Basilica has an important title granted by the Pope. However, they ultimately serve the same function (worshiping God and their respective Virgins). The one in Viana do Alentejo is difficult to reach because it is isolated in the Alentejo region, while the Basilica of Maracaibo is in the city center; getting there requires your own vehicle.😎📸
Quiero ya aclarar que un Santuario y una Basilica no son lo mismo, el santuario tiene relaciones con la peregrinacion y la Basilica tiene un titulo importante otorgado por el Papa; sin embargo acaban por ser la misma funcion (adorar a Dios y sus respectivas virgenes); la de "Viana de Alentejo" si es dificil de llegar porque esta aislada en el centro Alentejano, mientras la Basilica de Maracaibo esta en el centro, llegar aqui tiene que ser con vehiculo propio.🌏📍

The Basilica of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá in Maracaibo, Venezuela, began construction in 1686. Wow! Did you imagine it was so old? Let me tell you, it's the third oldest in Venezuela! Amazing, isn't it? And now, the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora d'Aires dates back to 1763. Wow! It's old, but the Basilica of Maracaibo is almost 100 years older! Did you guess right?📸🌏
La Basilica "Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá" de Maracaibo Venezuela comenzo a construirse en 1686, uufff.... Te imaginastes que fuera tan antigua? dejame decirte que es la tercera mas antigua de Venezuela! pedazo de dato no?, y ahora el Santuario de "Nossa Senhora d'Aires" data del ano 1763 wow!!! es antigua pero la Basilica de Maracaibo es casi 100 anos mas antigua! acertastes?⛪🚩

Well, this answers one of my suspicions; they both share the Baroque style. That's why when I saw the one in Portugal, it reminded me a lot of the one in Maracaibo. But we have to specify that the one in Venezuela is: (neo-Baroque and eclectic) while the one in Portugal is: (late Portuguese Baroque). They're both incredible inside, aren't they?🛣️🚍
Bueno ya esto responde una de mis sospechas, las dos comparten el estilo Barroco, por eso cuando vi la de Portugal me recorde mucho a la de Maracaibo, pero tenemos que especificar que la de Venezuela es: (neobarroco y ecléctico) mientras la de Portugal es: (Barroco tardío portugués), son increible por dentro ambas verdad?🫣📍

The Basilica in Maracaibo has a story about a person who found a wooden board in Lake Maracaibo in 1709 that resembled the Virgin Mary. At the Sanctuary, a man working the land found a piece of wood with the image of the Virgin Mary on it. Doesn't that seem strange?🫣🌏
La Basilica en Maracaibo tiene una historia de una persona que consiguio una tabla de madera en el lago de maracaibo con una similitud a la virgen en 1709, en el Santuario fue un hombre que harando la tierra se consiguio una madera que tenia la imagen de la virgen, no les parece algo tan extrano??🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♀️

Both churches are devoted to the Virgin Mary, Christ, and, at their core, God the Creator. However, the Basilica hosts one of Venezuela's largest religious festivals, the "Feria de la Chinita," in November—a vibrant blend of Maracaibo culture and festivities. Meanwhile, the Sanctuary hosts the Pilgrimage and the largest trade fair in the Alentejo region! Incredible! Both do things on a grand scale.📸😎
En ambas hay devocion a la Virgen, a Cristo y en el epicentro un Dios creador, sin embargo en la Basilica se celebra una de las ferias religiosas mas grandes de Venezuela la: "Feria de la Chinita" en el mes de Noviembre, una mezcla de cultura Marabina con fiestas, mientras en el Santuario se Celebra la Romeria y la feria comercial mas grande de Alentejo! INCREIBLE AMBAS HACEN LAS COSAS A LO GRANDE🗺️⛪

Buenos días, mi amigo. Nos presentas dos monumentos con mucha personalidad y al mismo tiempo con gran parecido, a pesar de la distancia física y el tiempo (100 años).
No soy un entusiasta del barroco, pero los dos templos son una preciosidad.

Qué delicia arquitectónica de comparación. Las dos construcciones tienen, en el interior como en el exterior, detalles de construcción que las hacen únicas. Los altares son realmente imponentes.
Si bien se puede apreciar por el tipo de construcción que son edificios antiguos, no pensé que una de ellas esté en pie desde el año 1686 y la otra del 1763.
Gran trabajo de comparación; aprecio que nos hayas dado a conocer toda esta información.

While their construction style suggests they are old buildings, I didn't realize that one has been standing since 1686 and the other since 1763.

Saludos @biologistbrito, ambas iglesias tienen un lindo diseño pero definitivamente la de Maracaibo es más bonita, pensé que la de Portugal se había construido primero, para esa fecha muchos países de europa se habían formado como estados nacionales e iniciaron la búsqudea de nuevos territoros de ultramar para expandir su dominio y consolidarse como potencia. Buen dato de la iglesia de Maracaibo.
