Greetings nature lovers, thank you for choosing us as always in our lovely community! 2025 is drawing to a close, and I had to participate in this last contest (just to show my presence since I never enter the prizes). I wanted to make a short but insightful post full of beautiful images, doing what I love: reviews of a place in Portugal. Today we'll be visiting the palace (Baldaya).🎄🚩

¡Saludos amantes de la naturaleza, gracias por preferirnos como siempre en nuestra linda comunidad! Ya se despide el 2025 y tenía que participar en este último concurso: (solo para marcar presencia porque no participo nunca en los premios), quise hacer un post corto, pero profundo y lleno de lindas imágenes haciendo lo que me apasiona reviews sobre un local de Portugal, y para hoy visitaremos el palacio (Baldaya).🗺️🌍

Before going to Baldaya Palace, I started my walk from Campo Ourique, and it's incredible because here we connect my post with nature. There's a curious fact about this town: in 1755, when the great earthquake devastated Lisbon, Campo Ourique was the only one that didn't suffer major damage. The power of nature claimed many cities in Portugal, but here where I am, nature couldn't prevail, and a saying was born: (resves campo de ourique), which we translate as "by a hair." That is, when a Portuguese person wants to say that something didn't quite happen, they use that phrase: (resves campo de ourique). It's completely crazy to be here, haha.😂🤣
Antes de ir al palacio de "Baldaya" comence la caminata desde "Campo Ourique" y es increible porque aqui relacionamos mi post con la naturaleza y es que existe un dato curioso sobre esta ciudad que en el año 1755 cuando ocurrió el gran terremoto que desbastó Lisboa por completo "Campo Ourique" fue la única que no sufrió grandes danos el poder de la naturaleza reclamo Muchas ciudades de Portugal pero aquí donde estoy la naturaleza no pudo vencer y nace un "dictado, refran" : (resves campo de ourique) que lo traducimos como "por poco" o sea cuando un Portugues quiere referirse a que una cosa NO PASO POR POCO utiliza esa frase: (resves campo de ourique). Una completa locura yo estar aqui jaja😍🚙

Some photos are also from "Alcantara" and other cities around "Campo Ourique," as I did a sort of urban trail. Therefore, I'm showing you a variety of interesting things I saw while photographing the walk. I always compare Christmas in Portugal with Christmas in Maracaibo, Venezuela, and I think the Portuguese aren't very fond of this celebration because it doesn't have the same decorative intensity compared to how we did it there.🚙😍
Algunas fotos son también de "Alcantara" y otras ciudades alrededor de "Campo Ourique", ya que hice como un sendero urbano, por tanto, te muestro una variedad de cosas interesantes que vi fotografiando mientras hacía la caminata, siempre comparo Navidad de Portugal con Navidad de Maracaibo Venezuela y creo que el Portugués no es muy amante de esta celebración, porque no tiene la misma intensidad decorativa en comparación de como lo hacíamos allá.🌍🚩
"Campo de Ourique" is a city on a hill, and well, actually many places in Lisbon are over one hundred meters high because the district is also known as the seven hills, perhaps that's what helped it not to suffer much from the earthquake😍🚙
"Campo de Ourique" es una ciudad en altura, y bueno, en realidad muchos sitios de Lisboa están sobre los cien metros porque el distrito también es conocido como las siete colinas, quizás eso fue lo que ayudo a que no sufriera mucho con el terremoto🏔️🎄

"Campo de Ourique" is full of history. Among its stone streets, we can appreciate the "Aguas Livres" aqueduct, which we've already covered in a post (I recommend you check it out), and this bridge from 1940, as well as that apartment on the corner that transports us to New York.😍🚩

Benfica and the memories of Christmas🏰🎊/ Benfica y las memorias de la navidad📍🧭
Benfica is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Lisbon, which is also very luxurious, but amidst all the concrete, it's very green and has that "symbiosis" of Christmas and nature. Everything here is decorated, and at night it's quite beautiful. Benfica has always maintained its green spaces because there are two kinds of Christmas: one artificial and one natural, and that's the reason why we must preserve green spaces.🚩🚙
Benfica es una de mis ciudades favoritas de Lisboa que por cierto también es muy lujosa, pero entre tantos concretos es muy verde y tiene esa "simbiosis" de navidad-natural, todo acá es decorado y en las noches es bastante bonito, desde siempre Benfica mantuvo sus espacios verdes porque existen dos tipos de Navidades. UNA ARTIFICIAL Y OTRA NATURAL y es la respuesta del porqué debemos preservar los espacios verdes.🗺️😍
Memoirs of the Palace🏰🎊/ Memorias del Palacio📍🧭
The Baldaya Palace was built in 1783. The palace's name refers to Maria Joanna Baldaya, an important person commonly associated with high society, who gave it its name. When the owner died, she left no heirs, and since the 18th century, it has been used for many different purposes.🌍📍
El palacio de Baldaya fue construido en el ano 1783, el nombre del palacio está referenciado a Maria Joanna Baldaya quien fue una persona importante comúnmente de la alta sociedad, quien le dio el nombre, cuando muere la propietaria no dejo herederos y desde el siglo XVIII se le dio muchos usos diferentes.🚙🏕️

Lindo post, tenía tiempo sin ver los gnomos en el jardín, una vecina tenía la costumbre de adornar su jardín con estos simpáticos personajes, el frente de su casa era el centro de atracción y parecía una recreación de los cuentos, muchos niños nos acercábamos a la reja para observar su linda decoración, el pesebre también era hermoso, para ello usaba madera , paja seca y cartón.
