Tech Kit: Omnicase 2 Pro

Not so long ago, I backed a Kickstarter project by JSAUX for this OmniCase 2 Pro... a sort of all in one docking station and handy travel kit. Along the way, I picked up the deluxe package which included all sorts of JSAUX goodies... seeing as they are really well known for their Steam mods, I figured that it would be nice to picked up some quality hardware and peripherals whilst I was there!

Anyway, I've only just got around to unpacking and including everything into my travel and home kits... and this OmniCase 2 PRO is next to be included into my travel/daily kit bag. Speaking of which, I will soon move to a new daily bag as well... this old trusty one has lasted over ten years, but is starting to pick up some nasty holes... and new shoes... sigh, may as well do the entire change in one go...

So, a first opening and peek reveals a piece of kit that is about the same size as my battery charger. Small, compact, and perfect for fitting into one of my travel bag pockets!

Thankfully, there is a little diagram that explains what all the holes are... and all the various little storage slots as well... although, the only really critical slot is trying to figure out which is the USB-C in port... The rest are all going to be keyed slots and storage anyway.

Pulling it out of the packaging, the Omnicase 2 PRO is a really light piece of kit that feels cool to the touch and just brimming with potential. There is something really quite exciting about holding a little compact piece of kit that seems well crafted and sleek.

Ports galore that go all the way around the case!!! Pretty much everything that you will ever need!

... and thankfully, they have labelling of the ports on the underside of the case. Definitely a worthy design inclusion, as carrying around a little piece of paper to remember everythng would be a real pain! But then again, only the USB-C in port is the critical one, and you could always just put a little sticker dot there to remind you... but again, better that they have this underside labelling!

The top is held in place by a strong magnet... and removing it reveals a compact storage for all the USB adapters, a sim ejector tool, and space for lots of SD and micro SD cards! This is so great! I have a little pouch for all these things... which I do love, but it is a pain to find anything in it! This is a more elegant storage, and I will be able to use the cute little pouch for something else!

The adaptors are held pretty firmly in place, I guess this will degrade over time... but at the moment, they can be a bit tricky to get out! But better that than being loose and flapping around inside!

So, I'm going to add this to my daily carry/travel bag... along with the new GaN charging dock that I wrote about not so long ago! Upgrading the travel tech is always fun!
