Orange Baby Spider
Two days ago, I came across something very unusual in the backyard of my house while I was searching for mushrooms. From a distance, this object looked like small berries hanging from a tree. However, there are no berries that grow in the area where I live.
As I approached, I was somewhat surprised because what I saw from afar turned out to be round and capable of moving. Upon closer inspection, those small orange spheres turned out to be a multitude of baby spiders. They were holding onto thin threads that kept them suspended.
This was my first experience seeing so many baby spiders directly. Usually, I only encounter adult spiders waiting alone in their webs. These baby spiders resembled crab larvae and were orange in color.
I am not sure what kind of spider species I encountered. In their web, I only found these spider babies along with some ants trapped without any apparent adult spider. Watching them move together gave me shivers, and I could imagine how frightening it would be to see the adult version of these spiders.
