Parmarion martensi

While exploring a small forest area in my village, after several days of heavy rain, I came across such an amazing and unexpected view. On top of a pile of overgrown white mushrooms, I spotted a Parmarion martensi—a type of snail I rarely encounter.

This snail seems to really enjoy the mushrooms that grow from rotting tree trunks. With slow but sure movements, the Parmarion martensi devoured the soft parts of the mushroom. His calm and determined presence gave me the perfect opportunity to capture him in a detailed macro photo.

Watching him move among the mushrooms, I felt like I was in a different world, where everything moves slower and every living creature has an important role in maintaining the balance of nature. This snail, with its slimy and slippery skin, actually adds to the beauty of the small ecosystem that forms on top of the fungus.

This moment reminded me how precious every creature in nature is, no matter how small or slow they move. In a fast-paced world, Parmarion martensi teaches us to sometimes slow down and enjoy the beauty around us, even in things that seem simple like a snail enjoying its mushrooms.

I feel very fortunate to have been able to capture this rare moment and share it with our community of nature observers. Hopefully this photo can be a reminder for all of us about the beauty that exists around us, which is often overlooked in our busy daily lives.
