"Natural VS Artificial Light in Macro Photography Mushroom"
Hello friends of the Photography Lovers community! This time I want to share an interesting experience about photographing mushrooms that I found around my environment. As we know, light is an important element in photography, especially in macro photography which demands a lot of detail.
On this occasion, I will discuss the difference between using natural light and artificial light in macro photography, especially when photographing mushrooms. Below, I include two photos of mushrooms that I photographed using different approaches. And on this occasion I show two different types of mushrooms for the first mushroom I found on a rotten banana tree trunk, and for the second mushroom I found growing on the ground.
- First photo: The mushroom growing on this rotten banana trunk I photographed using natural light. As you can see, natural lighting gives a soft and natural feel to the image, but sometimes it is difficult to control the intensity and direction of the light, especially when environmental conditions change.
This is for the first mushroom photo.
and this is for the second view of the small mushroom photo.
- Second photo: And this time I used artificial light with additional lights. Artificial light gives me full control over the lighting, allowing me to highlight the details of the mushroom more sharply and present stronger contrasts.
and this is for the second view of the small mushroom photo.
Well, here is a photo before I used the macro lens, the photo is very bad, isn't it?😃
Now, I would like to invite you guys to compare these two photos. Which do you think is more interesting: the results with natural light or artificial light? Both have different characteristics, and I am curious to hear your opinions on which one is more suitable for macro photography of this mushroom.
Don't forget to leave your comments and choices!
NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
A very interesting and didactic post, I find that when it comes to mushrooms the use of artificial light in the right way is something that improves the results a lot. This is especially true when you find mushrooms in places with limited lighting (which, by the way, is where mushrooms tend to be!) Good job @bananaklatbarat friend!

PD: I especially liked this photo!
Thank you for loving it, it is true that the lighting in the forest is sometimes a little dark so I use lighting with lights to maximize the result, Thank you again sir, @jlinaresp for your support
