A few days ago, I found an interesting mushroom while walking around my field. This mushroom was growing on a dead tree trunk. It was a shiny brown color, with a very neat and symmetrical ring-like pattern. When I looked closer, the center seemed to collect water, giving it a sparkling effect when exposed to sunlight.
This mushroom is quite distinctive because its shape is like a flat and stiff cup, unlike the usual mushrooms which are soft. After I looked into it, it turns out that this mushroom is known as (Microporus xanthopus). Usually, this mushroom grows on rotting wood, like the one I found.
The environment around my field has been quite humid lately because of the rain the last few days, so it makes sense that this mushroom has appeared. Interestingly, this mushroom not only beautifies the area, but also shows how important the natural decomposition process is in nature.
