A few days ago, while exploring a small wooded area in the village, I came across a unique mushroom that caught my attention—Lycoperdon curtisii. This mushroom has a small round shape, similar to a small ball with a color that tends to be white to gray. The surface of this mushroom has a slightly leather-like texture, but is smooth to the touch.

I moved closer to observe more details. When I touched it, I saw that it released a small dusting of spores when gently pressed. This phenomenon is quite unique, because Lycoperdon curtisii is a type of puffball, which releases spores in the form of small clouds when ripe and touched.

While documenting this find with a camera, I was impressed by the ability of this tiny fungus to spread its spores in a simple but effective way. This experience reminded me how extraordinary natural ways are to maintain life and adapt to the environment.

The Lycoperdon curtisii fungus may be small and looks simple, but its role in the ecosystem is very important as a decomposer. This observation adds to my knowledge about the diversity of fungi that exist around us.
