At that time I was walking through a small forest area near the village. Actually, my initial goal was to look for insects, but because the weather was humid after the afternoon rain, many insects were hiding. When I was about to give up, I suddenly saw a fast movement among the dry leaves scattered on the ground. After approaching carefully, I realized it was a fairly large spider with a grayish brown color.

I immediately took out a macro lens and a small flashlight to illuminate it. Once I focused, the characteristics of this spider were clearly visible—long, slender legs with faint lines that made it easy to camouflage. Its body position was slightly lowered, perhaps preparing to hunt prey. I paused for a while, observing its movements. Occasionally this spider moved quickly, as if to make sure there were no threats around it.

One interesting thing, although its appearance looks "fierce", this Heteropoda ocyalina actually prefers to avoid threats rather than attack. After taking several pictures from different angles, I decided to let it return to its nocturnal activities.
