On this occasion, I returned to explore the natural beauty around my house, and my attention was drawn to a dry branch of a coffee tree that had been lying on the ground for a long time. On it, an interesting little mushroom, Gymnopus foetidus, grew.
This mushroom has a simple shape, but its presence gives new life to the dead branch. The brownish color of the mushroom's body blends harmoniously with the texture of the dry coffee twig, creating a captivating view to capture with my macro lens.
When taking pictures, I took advantage of the soft natural lighting from between the leaves, plus a little artificial light to highlight the unique details of the mushroom's body. The distinctive smell produced by this mushroom makes it even more interesting to study, as if telling the story of the natural decomposition process that occurs around it.
