Genus Synonycha

As I brushed aside the small leaves at the edge of the path, my eyes were drawn to two small, strikingly colored dots atop the stalks of wildflowers. I approached slowly—it turned out to be two beetles from the Genus Synonycha!

The first beetle was perched at the tip of the stalk, as if enjoying the view from a height, while the other was slightly below it, motionless. Its color is reddish yellow with a distinctive black pattern on its wings, which contrasts with the fresh green of wild flowers that have not yet fully bloomed.

I picked up the camera and started adjusting the focus. Slowly, I approached closer, but still careful not to send them flying. A slight breeze makes the flower stalks sway slightly, adding a challenge to taking pictures. When I was almost ready to take a photo, suddenly the beetle below crept up towards its friend. I held my breath—moments of interaction like this are always interesting to capture.

Are they communicating? Or maybe one of them wants to take a higher position? I don't know for sure, but what is clear is that this scene feels so natural and beautiful.
