Today I was lucky to find a unique mushroom from the Genus Cyathus, which is usually called "Bird's Nest Fungi", in a small forest near the village. This is one of the most interesting fungi because its shape resembles a small bird's nest with "eggs" inside, which are actually peridioles—small spore-filled structures.

This fungus grows on rotting wood, which gives it a rough texture that contrasts sharply with the smooth surface of the peridioles inside its "nest." I am very interested in the unique form and function of this mushroom. These peridioles play an important role in the spread of spores, because when they are hit by raindrops, they are thrown out of the "nest" and help the life cycle of the fungus.

I captured this natural beauty using a macro lens, and I am very happy to have found this mushroom because it is not always easy to find it in its natural habitat. Cyathus fungi often grow in damp areas rich in organic matter such as rotting wood. These conditions turned out to be perfect after several days of rain around the village.
